Works well with my Dewalt angle grinder and fits my Festool dust extractor. Dust is contained. Appreciate the solid aluminum construction. Glad i paid a little extra for it.

Needed something to help remove paint from my foundation before installing new tiles, I wanted something that would make the whole process go quickly scraping was taking too long and I didn’t want to go the chemical route. This did the job perfectly removing all the paint from my foundation with virtually any dust. I must say I was impressed. Highly recommend this product

Used for grinding a bathroom floor. Works great, suggest having quick clamp to hold the hose to the housing.

This is a quality attachment to contain concrete dust when grinding. I have use a HERZO diamond disk before; it worked great, but I would have appreciated getting the dust carried away in part for safety and to see actual progress. I don't have a concrete grinding project at the moment, so I will concentrate on the assembly.I easily removed the existing safety shield from my Makita angle grinder. There was a little fussing to find the correct spacer. I chose the correct size plastic spacer, but also added the metal ring. Had to get out my metric sockets to adjust the nut on the snap closer. The shroud did not fit 'down' onto the 'neck' of my grinder as much as might have otherwise been intended because the the shroud hits the grinder housing first. This can also be seen on the third picture on the shaft side where it projects less than 100%. But in the end the collar seemed to be tight enough for use.The grinding wheel fit perfectly on the diameter of the grinder's shaft as well as the included spacer.There is some confusion about the 'four hole' locking nut. The kit includes a wrench with two prongs to tighten a four hole locking nut, but there is no nut to go along with the wrench as confirmed by the picture from the product's listing which shows all the parts. This wrench's pins did NOT fit my existing locking nut. Used my nut and wrench. Confusing, but no reason to deduct points.The brushes that wrap around the shroud and its tilt door are spring loaded such that they retract to allow the grinding disk to reach without interference. The instruction sheet explains that these brushes are replaceable after wear. The front of the shroud has a flip-up door with magnetic catch so that you can use the 'front' end of the grinding disc up against vertical obstructions and still have some vacuum collection.If you need dust containment, this is a good shroud.

The ring under the shroud, that holds the brush around perimeter, is made of a plastic like material and was broken upon receipt. Another review showed this same piece broke on the first use. It’s too bad since other than that plastic ring, it seems to be constructed well. Editing review since I decided to try gluing ring and using anyway, since this was only item I could find not made totally out of plastic! Unit actually worked very well even before gluing ring! Contained dust very well and made quick work of grinding the few spots of concrete I had to do.

My garage floor has cracked over the years. In some places the crack created a lip that's proud of the rest of the floor. Not terrible, but a trip hazard and rolling a floor jack across the cracks are problematic. I've wanted to grind it down flat, fill the cracks, and refinish but wasn't looking forward to the dust and mess.I received this dust shroud that's made to fit a standard grinder. It comes with a grinding wheel as well, so no excuses to avoid the project.Today I assembled it and went to work. I connected the shroud outlet to my shop vacuum and started grinding away. It works great. The shroud has a brush that contacts the floor to contain the dust and chunks. The brush rides on springs to provide a means of suspension that keeps it in contact with the floor. Most of the dust and chips were quickly sucked away and into the vacuum. Very little mess. It also keeps pieces from flying all over the place, which improves safety.The grinding wheel that came with the setup works great. It chewed through the concrete fast.The shroud is made of cast aluminum and very sturdy. The brushes are replaceable. I'll have to find out where I can get them from. It's an effective setup with solid design/engineering.I fully recommend this shroud/grinding wheel set. It works super well and is certainly built to last. It looks great, however a clip that holds the brushes broke and now dust is getting everywhere. I won’t recommend this product.
