Like some other reviews mentioned, there was some dried lubricant that was on the parrells that made them stuck together initially. Took a small amount of force to move them across thier slides but after breaking them loose they have operated fine. I tested each of them against Starrets and they are just as accurate as those. I would image they should last as long as you take care of them. They came individually wrapped inside some sort of waxed paper within the case. I intend to put them back in the wax paper each time when I'm done using them in hopes that this will prevent any rust issues. Overall I would say these are of good quality and great price point.

For my home shop, these are great. Surface finish isn't there but then I didn't buy it for it's looks, Seem to function well after a bit of brogan maintenance. One was really stuck together. After I got them loose and a shot of WD all is well. After a few slides the oil is coming out brown " lot of rust inside " but it is the function I need!

I completely understand that I didn’t spend Starrett money on these but upon opening the package the inside ways were completely rusted. Hopefully they will clean up enough to be usable. Not judging but I would rather clean a greasy surface than a rusted one.

Beautiful set of 1/2" parallels. Comes in a sturdy plastic box with solid latch. These are quite heavy. The outer cardboard Amazon-packaging was demolished, however the plastic protective box came through unscathed. Parallels come with a Cosmoline film and brown paper wrappers on each set so no rust. Mine were in pristine condition, undisturbed. Very pleased with this purchase.

I'm a hobby metal worker and these perform perfectly for what I need, I don't need 1/10 of a thou accuracy (they were within 1 thou across them) and I guarantee I will drop or mill a chunk out of one sooner or later and I wouldn't care, now if I splurged for a B&S set I would be po'ed

These are very, very tight out of the package. To the point where you'll need to give them a few love taps to separate. They will not slide without the assistance of tools. Once you get them apart and clean them up with some very light abrasives they work well.

Great set of parallels. Well ground ~0.0005" over the length. Surprised to get something so accurate from China. Edges are a little sharp but you can hit it with a diamond file to take down the burr.
