As a machinist sometimes you have to make odd ball set-ups and it requires unique tools. Its just a screw jack but you can get this one (they offer different sizes) in tight spots and that can be a life saver in some instances. It has knurling on the side to help give you a grip when adjusting the jack, however the knurling could be deeper (more aggressive) I believe if you use this item every day the knurling will wear off after a period of time. But for the money I will say its a good buy.

I have a queen size sofa sleeper couch and somehow a piece of wood on the bottom starting breaking through the fabric. This is less than a year old! So I took a chance with this and popped it under the drooping wood and raised the little jack and it fixed my issue! Be warned that it’s greasy/oily when you take it out but I just wiped it off and it was fine.

I needed a small jack to support the center of a very long couch which I raised with bed lifts. The center support leg wouldn’t reach the floor anymore and this turned out to be the perfect solution to extend the support leg. The thumb wheel to set jack height was adjustable while the couch was putting its load on the jack, which meant no additional time was spent measuring the gap and testing iteratively.

I use it when installing machinery to hold the weight of the equipment while I adjust the leveling pads. It's perfect for this

I bought a few sets of these things and they're real simple machinist jacks that could be made at home. My only complaint was that the threading on all but one of them was very loose. Also for such a small increment of movement it would have been a lot nicer if they were fine thread vs the course the manufacturer used. But they were cheap and did what I needed.

I am happy with them. I got a pair. Use them once and they hold the piece fine. Easy to setup because their low profile.
