How to install the mounting bracket?
1. The mounting bracket consists of two small brackets.
2. Install the connector of Bracket 1 on the seat post, and secure the bracket with a tool.
3. Install the connector of Bracket 2 on the U-lock, and secure the bracket with a tool.
4. Assemble the installed brackets.

It works exactly as a lock should, however the scooter mount loosens and begins to raddle over time.. I tried to fix it but it's just a cheap plastic and there's nothing to be done. The shackle is also not as wide as others of comparable or cheaper price, which can be frustrating sometimes.

First thing first, … Hiboy did NOT design the keys to open the lock. I discovered that one can ONLY open the lock using the combination password. The primary purpose of the keys is to help you retrieve a lost password which is originally set at “0000.”The second thing is that to reset your password you need to press the RESET button. Press this button HARD. You need to press this button hard enough until you see two pins protruding about 3/16 of an inch on the surface that is parallel to the surface where one would insert a key (the area between the two U-mount bolts).The enclosed instruction sheet does not thoroughly address the two preceding points. The instruction sheet spends an inordinate amount of time discussing the installation of the storage bracket on a bicycle seat post or frame. The installation of the lock on a bicycle seat or frame appears to be an uncomplicated process that requires less explanation.I was able to change/reset the code, after spending about 12 minutes of time that I have lost to the ages to figure out the lock/unlock protocol. I find that the tumblers on the combination lock to be too difficult to turn so if I ever must make a quick getaway I am cooked. Anyway, this scenario is not in the cards for me – I intend to use this lock on my lawn equipment. I will keep the keys handy but knowing that they only serve an “as needed service.” I will not sweat keeping up with the keys because if I forget my lock combination – it will mean that it is time to hang up my spurs and enjoy my remaining years watching the grass grow.Overall, this is a decent quality lock with a security level of eight. There is no real standard regarding security level, but I would place this lock in the moderate to high security level range.

I recently bought a Hiboy scooter and wanted a lock that I could mount on the bike. The lock is great. It comes with a mount BUT the promotional pictures for this lock are not helpful. It shows the mounting bracket hanging from the scooter handlebars. The new Hiboys have a display screen making this mounting impossible. Check the pictures from the reviewers. To mount on a scooter, it goes on the main steering post and the lock points in the direction of travel. You'd think this would be well explained but here we are. Now that it is on my scooter, I like it very much.

Honestly this feels a little more like a budget lock, both in the blocky design and the slight ricketyness. It does work, and keep in mind the keys are just a failsafe to reset the code, this is purely a combo lock. I wish it were a little more ... ergonomic and solid feeling. But locks these days are a little more for deterrence than for actual theft prevention, as it seems like determined folks with the right equipment can hack most anything. So I would use this for lower-value items or low-risk situations rather than high value and high stakes.
