Excellent, somewhat larger than I expected, but great for dealing with cut foods of many types, and getting them to where you want

I have been using this to scoop products off of freeze dryer trays and it works really well. Works well to chop and scoop. Nice quality stainless.

I got this food scoop because I was tired of picking chopped veg up off the floor. This gets prepped ingredients from cutting board to pan in 1 trip without anything falling. It’s just the right size to dump chopped veg into the pan and not onto the stove. It’s neat and tidy…way better than using my chef knife blade, which always dropped stuff into the floor. The scoop’s wide, rounded handle gave me a really secure grip. I used it transfer chopped onion and shredded cheese to the pan, and even to discard onion skins in the garbage can. It’s a keeper.

I bought this for scooping food off of medium Harvest Right freeze dryer trays and putting it in bags. This scoop fits the trays very well. I like that it is flat across the bottom with raised sides to prevent food falling off. It works great for putting food into larger bags, but I still need a funnel for some smaller bags. It's very sturdy, easy to hold, and washes easily. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

I like this scoop and it's really good to use this when using a good knife that you don't want to be scraping across your cutting board, which can dull the blade. The scoop is sturdy and works well but the one thing that could be better is to have the curled end more open or completely closed. Small pieces of food can get into the curled part and then you have to try to make sure you get them washed out completely. Other than that design flaw I think it works really well.

I use it for scooping up chopped fruit & veg to transfer into pans on the hob, as our chopping boards are large and unwieldy. It’s also handy for transferring the rubbish (skins, peelings) to the bin/waste disposal. I also bought a different one without sides which obviously isn’t quite so good at retaining the contents, but that one is easier to clean. As both go in the dishwasher anyway, no problem for me!

This is too heavy in my hand and too thick a gauge metal—not thin enough to scrape up things well because the edge isn’t beveled. But there’s another issue—I needed it to scrape freeze-dried food off of the freeze-drier tray and into a bucket, however, the gap in the rounded handle makes food get all caught up inside the rolled end. I guess it depends on for what you need this. Just keep in mind that that gap can be problematic for certain applications. I thought I’d bend it up and around backwards but the gauge is too heavy. I think I’d rather have a perpendicular handle. This would probable work great for a man’s hand, it just feels awkward to me, I would like it half that gauge at the very least. I have mini scoops of this metal style with sides, love the sides, but they don’t have this round handle, thank goodness. I think this scoop would be perfect for certain purposes for others because it is high quality and well made. I would still bevel the edge’s though. The price is very fair for what you get. If that gap is a problem for you, you could probably fill it or cover it with tape, or bend it a lot more open. I am not going to return it, I hate the hassle, so I will have the handle bent up, bevel the edge, and see if the weight will work after I put a handle on it.

I basically use this as a countertop "dustpan" and it works extremely well. After baking, there is always a floury mess to clean up, so out comes my "dustpan" and counter whisk brush. And, I done in a trice.[I have flexible cutting sheets for chopping on and transferring to the pot/pan instead.] I do appreciate the fact that this is made of stainless steel, which should outlast me. ;)

Nice peel for the countertop when you prepare food, espacially, salsa, herbs, diced vegetables like onions, peppers, carrots, celeri, etc. also, super when you have to chop an ingredient and you have to add it at the last minute of cooking, like mushrooms, just chop, put those in it and set asides near the cooking zone, ready to add at finishing.
