I have used this ice cube mold continuously since I purchased it in 2014, five years ago. It makes excellent water-bottle ice, really easy to extract from the mold. If you under-fill the mold a little, the cubes are about 1/2” in diameter, and fit easily into narrow-opening bottles. If you fill the mold to the top, the cubes are a nice, bigger size. I have never had any issues with taste, or residue in the mold. The silicone ice cube mold is flexible, which could be problematic when filling with water. I obviate the issue by placing the empty mold on top of a regular, plastic ice cube tray (filled or not), and filling it. Then I place the stack of tray and mold in the freezer. No mess, no drama. As soon as the water in the silicone mold has set a little, the plastic tray, if unfilled, can come out of the freezer.I came on the site today because I decided to get another of these molds, to supplement my first one, which is still going strong. I was surprised the ratings weren’t all stellar, so I am adding mine.

Too flexible, leave 5mm from the top edge or ice will not go through. Other than that - good :)

I originally ordered 2 of these after searching all over Amazon for decent molds for crayons that are similar like the basic crayon shape (long, round, and skinny) and found nothing exactly like I wanted. I decided to try these, as they were the next best thing, and I saw another reviewer mentioned enjoying making crayons with them. I thought to get 2 for just in case, as we had LOTS of broken crayons to mend together, but we only used 1 of them since they were so big and the wait to do each set wasn't too long. When the crayons were melted in the mold, then frozen, I took a knife and cut each stick in half (which was easy, as I could do 1 of each color and split them between my 2 kids so they each have their own). Before, we did a rectangular mold, and my kids didn't like how it made it so hard to color in the lines and left their pages really messy, so I wanted to find something they'd enjoy. They loved how the crayons came out from this mold, and it made the crayons easy for their small hands to hold while also making coloring inside the lines more easier. And as for the other 1 that I didn't use yet, I'll be using it for freezing ice for my water bottles. So, nice win-win situation.

I like this ice cube tray. It freezes water into a shape that will go into my water bottle. However, filling it is a major PITA. Because the silicone is so bendy, you can't really fill it at the sink and then walk it over to your freezer without spilling water on your floor and inside your freezer. I've been using a measuring cup with a pour spout to fill it while it's already in the freezer, which works okay, but I wish this came with some kind of frame or tray to use underneath it.

It sits flimsy and floppy but only for easy removal of ice tubulas, if you want ice tubulas for our thermos or drink container, then get this, but, place it on something water proof and THEN fill it with water in the freezer. Durable and economical. I like it!

Very happy with purchase. Perfect for water bottles. Just put it flat in your freezer, grab a cup of water, and fill right in the freezer. Simple and effective.

excellent for many things. I love using it to melt a few chocolate chips in each section using the microwave and then putting slices of bananas, strawberries, or pretzel rods ontop and then putting it into the freezer to be able to have a quick, easy, relatively healthy treat with easy preparation (no bowls involved; it can go right from microwave to freezer with no need to scrap the chocolate off the side of the bowl when melting chocolates). It is also great for making ice sticks that fit into water bottles instead of trying to hold them up to the ice dispenser and having some cubes fly all over in the process). You can also put piece of berries, fruit juice, or coffee in these molds to then put into beverages or freeze herbs in olive oil in these molds. These are just a few of the many amazing uses this product has. It is also much easier to get things out of this mold then an ice cube tray and if you only want half a stick worth of something, it is easy to break the thin sticks in half.

As some people have mentioned, these trays are very 'floppy'; however there are several ways to get around this issue. One way I have found is to fill a regular ice tray then set this one on top. Works like a charm. I have not used this to cook so can not vouch for that process. I love it though and if I had a need, I'd buy another.

I purchased these water bottle trays to be used to melt broken crayons into new whole crayons. While I did not make ice, using them to move hot wax made me understand why people were finding them "hard to fill" since they could potentially spill. Since I read the reviews of this product before purchase I knew this may be an issue with very hot wax. My solution (which worked just fine for the hot wax and would work equally well with water) was to put the tray on a cookie sheet first, fill it then let the wax (or ice) harden. Once hard the silicon trays were no longer difficult to transport. The wax crayons came out without having to use any kind of additional spray and held up fantastically to both hot and cold exposure. While I realize this not what the tray was designed for, it works extremely well for this purpose. I also would like to note it would be fabulous for ice cubes for this reason. Finding fault with the product for being 'flimsy' seems a tad silly as it would seem equally tricky to remove ice cubes from a less flexible item. It cleans up very nicely and I am looking forward to using it again and again. I would highly recommend this product and have in fact done so.

Yep. Bought this because of Pinterest - and I love it! It's used every day.The silicone ice cube tray is flimsy and I spill a bit of water every single time that I move it back into the freezer. The ice is easy to remove and to slip into the water bottles. That part is genius!

Pros: Great shape on the ice cubes, perfect for any sized water bottles. Easy to pop out of the silicone mold.Cons: Once you fill it in the sink, it's impossible to transfer to the freezer without water spilling all over the place. I've mitigated the problem, however, by leaving the two slots on the end filled. That provides some rigidity for transferring the structure to the fridge with liquid water in the three middle slots only.
