Whatever they did to the finish, bead blast or chemical coating, it was a BAD DECISION. IF you're going to weld this material, you need to sand or buff the surface wherever you're going to weld. I mean, you need to clean it to a fresh shiny surface or weldability is going to be difficult. This is almost as bad as the tubes that get a chrome or anodized finish.Hope the vendor figures out that customers just want PLAIN CLEAN tubes. Leave the finishing to the end user.

I got this to practice welding on some tube and this did not weld good at all. I think they must sand blast this to get the textured surface because I was getting all kinds of contamination when trying to TIG weld with this. This would work well as a regular straight section, but don't get this if your intention is to weld anything onto it.
