Solid construction but the screws provided stick up too high and interfere with the slider. Had to drill and reshape the the screw holes to allow the screw heads to sit lower down.

Replaces worn out wood on wood drawer slider. Traditional wood sliders and track were 1inch thick where these are 1/2" thick. Had to McGuyver full length spacer to bottom of drawer to attach slider but laid out track as is to bottom of cabinet. Depending on the way your drawer was constructed, installation requirements will differ.

I read the reviews for these and was hesitant to order them based on some people's experiences but my old wooden slides in my kitchen drawer cabinet were so bad I figured I would take a chance. I also couldn't find any other non-wood options on amazon or elsewhere for bottom centered drawer slides in the length I needed so it was either this or I would have to continue living with drawers that were hard to pull out, constantly jammed, or went back in crooked. I ordered just 1 at first to try out and then figured I would either return it if it was as bad as some of the reviews were saying, or order the remaining 3 I needed. I ended up ordering the other 3 after I installed the first one and although they're not perfect they are light years ahead of the wooden slides I had before. When the first one came I was able to seperate the 2 parts without any issues. It took a bit of a hard tug but nothing crazy like some people in other reviews experienced. It was just a straight hard tug. Maybe some people pulled it in the wrong direction? It only comes apart one way in the direction that your drawer will pull out. I took off the old wooden slide part on the drawer itself and installed the new metal slide part using 1 screw at the front and 1 at the back. I didn't remove the old wooden slide part from the drawer cabinet though. Doing that would have lowered the drawer from where it was before and caused an awkward gap. I measured before I did this and realized that the old wooden slide part attached to the drawer was roughly the same height as both parts of the new metal slide, so removing the slide from the drawer but keeping the old slide part in the cabinet would ensure roughly the same height. As an added bonus, keeping the old wooden slide part in the cabinet also allowed me to more securely attach the new metal slide part in multiple spots. If I did remove it then the new metal slide would have only been secured at the very front and very back of the cabinet as the drawer cabinet I have doesn't have a bottom between drawers. I only screwed the new metal slide to the bottom of the cabinet but an additional detachable part is supplied which also allows you to attach to the rear of the cabinet. I didn't use this though because there wasn't enough length to reach the back but even if there was, this back part lifts the slide up slightly which would mean that there could potentially be some jamming issues because of not enough clearance. When I put the drawer in I noticed a few things. First of all the amount the drawer could come out was amazing. I ordered the 20 inch size even though my drawers (46.5cm 18 1/4 inches) were on the top end of the recommended size for the 18 inch size sand I definitely made the right call getting the bigger size. The drawer came out with only around 10 cm / 4 inches hidden in the cabinet. There was very little sag as well when the drawer was fully extended. Just a very slight amount that didn't look like it was causing a huge amount of strain on the slide. It's been installed for over 4 month now and the sag hasn't increased even though I pull the drawer out to it's limit multiple times a day. Opening and closing the drawer was much smoother with the metal slide and comparing it to my other drawers it was night and day. Even though it was much smoother though there was some resistance right when opening the drawer. I realized that it was because my old drawer slide wasn't installed perfectly straight and my drawers were also not perfectly straight. Now that the new slide was installed installed perfectly straight, it was slightly rubbing the side of the cabinet. I sanded the side of the drawer though and the resistance went away. Now I just need to paint the part I sanded. Nothing was rubbing anymore and even though the drawer slid much more smoothly than before it wasn't as smooth as other drawers in my place that had slides on the sides. That makes sense to me though because only 1 slide is carrying all the weight and it's based off a much simpler design than most slides that go on the sides and have features such as soft close which these slides do not have even though it says so in the description. Drawers with these slides need to be pushed all the way in and won't close by themselves softly near the end.Based on my experience with the first 1 I ordered I bought the remaining slides I needed and followed the same process when installing. I did encounter a few more issues which required sanding so I recommend that if you do feel some resistance you check if there is rubbing anywhere. For one of the drawers I noticed that the rubbing was at the top of the drawer. There were no other issues besides this though. I was able to separate all of them with not much effort.I'm very happy with these as my drawers now work much better than before. They slide much more smoothly, they don't jam or go in crooked, and there is no danger of someone pulling the drawer out completely anymore. I wish they were even smoother but again based on it being a single slide I'm very happy with them.

Maybe these are easier for actual cabinets, but i found them very hard to install in a nightstand. If you don’t already have a center support, don’t bother with them. I had to make a center support within the nightstands I was trying to put them in. Spent 2 hours just getting one installed. If stores close by had center under mount drawer slides i would return these. When they are installed they slide great, but god forbid you have to remove a drawer. I nearly broke a drawer trying to get it out. Maybe it’s all use error, but better off just getting the wooden slides in my opinion.

They’re okay. They’re just drawers slides. Installation was once you know how to install them and they’re pretty smooth. But be careful, amazon, not the seller, sent me 3 that’s were LPNs which means that they were previously returned and one of the back brackets was bent like crazy so all I did was bend it back in place. These are usually more expensive at other places like Lowe’s so the price is even. They close easily. Overall would recommend

Retrofit to old drawers, Slides decently well.. Better than what it was

A five-drawer dresser was upgraded from wooden to metal slides. Some retrofitting was required but very happy with the end result. When ordering slides, base it on the cabinet size and not the drawer size as shown in the chart. I needed a slide spanning from the front stretcher to the rear stretcher. I initially ordered a 16-inch slide based on drawer size. It was too short for the cabinet even when using the rear adjustable bracket which adds up to 2 inches. An 18-inch slide fit the cabinet from front to rear. Shims were needed on the drawers to provide the required 1/4 inch spacing from the bottom of the drawer sides. The drawer rail can extend beyond the end of the drawer. The supplied plastic slides supporting the drawer sides came with an imbedded nail (thumb tack design). The nail was cut off and epoxy glue provided firm adhesion and even strengthened the cabinet. The front panels were cut with a table saw to provide the recommended 1/8-inch clearance on the top and bottom. Final recommendation: purchase one slide for your project and confirm it will work before ordering the rest.

The instruction is terrible but after I finally got these installed they're working as expected. I had to read all the reviews before someone mentioned how you have to tug at the glider back and forth three or four times before they come apart. I was pulling at it and after a couple tries I thought I was going to break them by tugging hard another few times. It didn't break and now I know to keep tugging until they come apart. Also make sure you measure the drawer and get the right size. I got the right size but had to adjust one back a little as the drawer wasn't closing properly. Now that they're on the are working great.

I bought two 20" center mount slides to update the drawers in a 70-year-old, built-in bathroom vanity. In the case of the first unit, the slides were nearly impossible to separate for installation. But, I was able to complete the installation. Unfortunately, I would like to "tune" the edge spacers to eliminate wobble, but I can't extract the drawer from the track. The second unit install was worse. Separating the slides required a rapid jerk, but they eventually came apart. Sadly, after mounting the slides, the bearing cage bent, folded, collapsed and failed when I attempted to install the door. Yep, the little balls came loose. Unlike a good slide, with a leading edge taper on the inner slide, these have a sharp, square edge. On the upside, the failed bearing assembly, allows you to remove the drawer from the cabinet, but it's a bit wobbly.I contacted the company for help, via their webpage, but they didn't respond. I'll buy a better brand and return the broken parts to Amazon for refund.Update: After removing the Hickory slides I made a few measurements. According to the directions, the slides are 3/8" thick and intended to be mounted on a drawer bottom which is recessed 1/4" above the drawer's side edges. That leaves a 1/8" clearance between the drawer side edge and the cabinet frame. The proved edge bumpers/glides, to be mounted on the cabinet frame, are at least 5/32" tall, which is more than the available clearance. On name brand slides of this type, which I have since installed, the edge bumpers/glides are nominally 1/16" tall, allowing a small clearance between the drawer edge and bumper. In the case of the name brand slides, the drawers move freely.UPDATED: 5 March 2023 - I bundled both of the failed slides and returned them to AMAZON. Sadly, I failed to notice that AMAZON sent me two separate return labels. So, now, AMAZON thinks I only returned one and there's no way to communicate with AMAZON on the matter. So, not only a poor product, but supported by poor service.

I purchased this center drawer slide in order to fix a broken one on a 20 year old Blackhawk 5 drawer dresser. The old Blackhawk dressers had drawer slides that would not separate, so that means that the drawers do not come out. Kind of a pain when you want to move the dresser as its very heavy with all drawers in.This Hickory slide can be separated; i've seen a few comments that question that. The narrow slide is the drawer slide and the wider slide that contains the ball bearing sled is the slide that mounts to the base of the dresser. To separate them, you have to firmly grasp each piece and firmly move the narrow slide in and out until is eventually releases from the ball bearing sled. You may have to be a bit creative as you install. On the Blackhawk dresser, the screw goes at an angle on the front of the drawer slide; no problem is you just bend the front of th drawer slide slight. Also, its a good idea to mark which side of the larger slide is the 'back' - if you mix up the front and back like I did, the drawer will have very limited movement. Good replacement hardware.
