Very sturdy and easy to change how you want the hoof supported. The magnetic is very handy for small tools.

I have used this product quite a lot since I received it because of treating a horse for thrush and the only thing I don't like about it is that the cradle head comes off sometime when moving the stand but that is an easy fix, I just wish the maker would have added a pin to hold it. I use it with average size horses between 15 and 15.5 hands and I haven't had any trouble with the height when adjusted to the shortest position. This is a product that would be very easy to tweak to suit yourself and your horses just using a drill and maybe a grinder but I really don't see the need unless you are dealing with ponies or minis. In short I like and would recommend this farriers stand.

Product is heavy duty, but will be too tall for ponies or small horses. Packaging or lack there of caused loose bolts, missing nuts and washer and the shaft to be all scratched up from banging into itself.

Despite the name of the company, there is close to no plastic involved. It's only lightweight because it's made out of a wide but sculpted steel plate base and steel tubing.Well thought out design: it's easy to swap between a hoof support and a leg support; when you pull a pin it's natural instinct is to stick to the adjacent magnet, whichever side the pin is on, so you don't lose it; the support tube that you are not using right now sticks to either of the magnets and stays out of the way and out of sight whether in use or when carrying. If you want to treat hooves in a way that feels secure to the horse and at a comfortable height for both of you, orients the hoof the way you need it for what you are doing without overloading your back/shoulders/knees/wallet, then this is the thing for you.The only tool you need for final assembly is a wide-ish flat head screwdriver.

I bought the farrier stand for my husband because he wanted to start doing our horses hooves to save money. We looked at different reviews and prices on amazon to find the best quality farrier stand that will meet what we are looking for.The package was well secured and came with easy instruction on setting it up. It is sturdy and seems very durable. My husband and I both thought the magnetic piece was helpful because it allows you to put farrier tools and the extended pole for the stand. The test was for my husband to do our horses hooves and this stand met our expectations on being sturdy and stayed in place while he did the horses hooves. He said it was easier on his back because since he is 6' 4'' this stand helped him not bend over so far. It's easy to put away in the tack room and doesn't take up much room. Definitely worth the money and recommend anyone looking for a high quality farrier stand.

I have been trimming my horse's feet for 30+ years. I keep my horses barefoot because they really don't need shoes. Years ago my farrier at the time taught me how to do it (it's not rocket science he said) and that way I could keep them up most of the time and he only had to trek out twice a year. However, I do not stand back up straight like I used to 30+ years ago and this product is PERFECT to save me from more visits to the chiropractor! It is very sturdy, easy to change out "heads" and exactly what I was hoping for!! Although it comes from "Plastics" it is made of heavy metal and not plastic at all. Hint: if you want to do your horse's feet yourself, remember you are not obligated to do all 4 hooves on the same day - for the Mustang, two a day is plenty and for the 8 month old filly one is quiet enough. Rather than battle, we end on a happy note and that way down the road it becomes easier. The other 4 will stand still and let you get it over with.

Awesome stand! Base is diamond plate steel and post is steel- not plastic! It is very stable. Plus, it has 2 attachments: the usual round one for dressing the outside of the hoof, and one (pictured on the stand) that you can put the hoof on to work on for rasping/nipping the hoof growth. This particular attachment gives you something to push against as you rasp. This feature is really important to me as my hackney pony is a little small to wrangle his foot between my legs. Also, the lowest height of the stand is perfect for my 12.3H pony. Nifty and quite strong magnetic thing-y on the side that I use for the hoof pick - but it will hold heavier stuff. It grabs the rasp every now and again, but this is only mildly annoying. With this stand, and Jaime Jackson's "The Natural Trim", I trim my little guy's feet perfectly. No more waiting for and paying for!) the farrier every 6 weeks! Yayyy! (plus my pony kinda digs it as he gets treated and pampered while I trim :-)
