The kit seems well made and optically correct. I purchased the premium 266 piece version, which was an easy expense to justify when compared to the cost that my opto Doc's lab imposed just for making me a "two piece lens kit" for my existing regular frames.Purchased this because I have ongoing eye surgery recoveries and wanted to:1. Pre-verify Dr's refraction prescription before ordering eyeglass lenses.2. Compare a trial frame loaded w/prescription to all newly made eyeglasses.3. Tweak-try small adjustments to latest Dr's prescription as time goes on.I was pleased to see a comment here (before I purchased) that recommended buyers also purchase an adjustable-for-IPD trial frame, which I did in order to get the best match to my opto Doc's determinations. (My opto Doc also uses that same adjustable frame and what looked to be a 104 piece trial lens kit to final tweak my prescription after using a traditional refraction machine to get a baseline.}After using the separately purchased adjustable IPD frame for a most precise verification, I was pleased to learn that a more comfortable nose rest was present on the complementary 65mm fixed-IPD trial frame included in my kit (provided randomly, as the Ucansee info reminds us, so your complimentary frame may be different}. It was nice to be able to load the more comfortable complimentary frame with my prescription and "test drive" the new prescription extensively while waiting a week for the opto shop to cut new lenses. If you or a family member is working their way through a lengthy vision restoration process and need to tweak and experiment around what your opto Doc or his refraction technician gives you, or you just want to check and see if a refraction prescription is correct, then a trial lens set, IPD-adjustable trial lens frame, and a Snelling wall chart will give you valuable tools for getting the best outcome.

Thank god for DIY kits like this.... Less than the cost of a single eye exam, and I now have glasses better than what pros were able to deliver. I saw an optometrist and an ophthalmologist and came away with two different crappy prescriptions. After using these lenses to derive my own prescription, I can see clearly now, and it is amazing! I will use this to fine-tune my prescription over time. I only wish that I had known about this sooner.

The set is complete and accuracy is good. I updated my prescription using these and the resulting glasses matched as expected. Except I'm not sure the index marks on the cylinder lenses are accurate; the axis came up different than the optometrist (as much as 2 degrees) so I didn't rely on it.

High quality lenses packed in a really nice aluminum briefcase. The included trial frame is basically useless though (non-adjustable IPD). Combined together with a nice trial frame (I purchased one from AIST Optics), you've got a great setup that'll last many years.
