First time good at 2000f. Second time it went up to 1400f then went down to 1300f even though in temp was increasing. Temp readings checked with two other thermocouples that showed 2000f while this one stayed at 1300.

After a first firing test we heard that something broke inside the kiln. After a quick check we found that the thermocouple mount broke right in the middle. Probably a defect in the fabrication.

Placed it in the peep hole to check the temp, heard a cracking sound, pulled it out and saw that it had popped off two pieces of the tube. Sure enough they landed in my ceramic piece and ruined it.Not happy.

I have an old, manual pottery kiln that doesn't show the temperature. This thermometer probe easily hooks up to a digital temperature gauge. I shove it through the bung hole and it gives me a very accurate temperature reading. I have measured up to 800°c.

It works fine but despite being well packaged, arrived with the tip guard chipped. Oh well. No impact on functionality.
