Both the compact "AA" battery powered model and the full size "C" cell powered models were designed specifically for use with today’s new larger clocks. They are the most powerful quartz movements on the market today, and they were designed to solve one of the primary assembly problems that confronts everyone making larger clocks-hour and minute hand spacing! All of the high torque movements on the market today share the same problem-they are just more powerful versions of regular movements designed to accommodate regular size hands. Our new "HT" series movements were designed specifically for use with larger hands. The distance between where the hour and minute hands are installed has been increased! This increased distance will help to prevent longer hands from binding and leaves enough room to accommodate the counterweights that are commonly used on large minute hands. You can always look to Quality Clock Parts to find solutions to the problems that confront American manufacturers. These movements will run a second hand, but we do not recommend it because it diverts so much power away from the hour and minute hands.

Never thought about the hands of the clock. Assumed they were standardized. they are not. I purchased it as it looked like the one I had. The hands on the current (nonfunctional movement) do not fit the shaft on this movement.

I bought the unit and found that it was a direct replacement for my 28” clock. Easy to install and working great. I was able to use the old hands from my clock. I like the c battery as it will last a year. Item came well packaged with no damage.

Do you have a big clock with a tiny AA battery drive that continually runs slow or stops often? I have two. So decided to replace each with this C battery drive. It is easy and only took about 10-15 min for each clock. Now they are both running perfectly. Plus, smooth movement -- no tick-tick-tick.

Clock fit great, I've used it for a couple of weeks and unit has performed very nice. Hands are very large 14 inch clock and keeps perfect time. Very happy with purchase!

Used it to repair a clock w/ 14" Hands.I tried 2 other movements, made in China and Germany and they were junk and used wimpy AA battery.Glad I found this USA made one that uses C battery.It works perfect with large 14" hands and seems to be keeping great time.
