I had been drinking Nature's Promise (Food Lion) and Simple Truth (Kroger) organic instant coffees. Occasionally I had a bottle or two that were bitter but for the most part they were reasonably priced and without a strong bitter after taste. Now for over a year it is impossible to find a single jar without an extremely bitter after taste. For cost reasons they must be extracting more and more coffee from the beans as a cost saving measure to keep price low and I lost hope of a decent coffee. I decided to try the cheap Amazon Whole Foods 365 brand and Highland. The 365 was about as bitter as the supermarket varieties. HIghland was much less bitter. Highland although slightly more expensive can be drunk with out having to dissolve it first in cold water and then adding sugar and several grains of salt. I am obviously not a coffee snob but was afraid that I might have to start brewing coffee in order to get something decent. I am also going to give Mt. Hagen a try. I have had their decaf in the past and it was never bitter either. Glad I found at least one acceptable brand with Highland.

Flavor was good but a little disappointed it was in a plastic jar.

Coffee with ease! I love boiling my water and pouring the right amount of cofffee for each cup. No cold, reheated mess of a morning. Make a fresh cup everytime! Tasty, easy to use, and great for baking too!

Great robust flavor to this organic decaf coffee! Ordered my 4th bottle!!!! No acid tummy or after-taste. Always a fresh, bold pleasure. Wonderful with non-dairy or half n half creamer!

I did not have high expectations for this, but it has practically become my new favorite coffee. For a variety of reasons, I have needed to switch to instant coffee and have been looking for a decent decaf version. I’ve found a few good ones and this is one of the best. It’s plenty strong and has a wonderful, rich, almost chocolatey taste. It dissolves very well in hot water. I highly recommend this!

The flavor is diff from the Nescafé House classic I usually get but not sure if this is worth it. It’s super small but there is a distinct coffee after taste that sits on the tongue - it’s not super acidic which is good. I like that it’s Fair Trade but it is small. So it’s kind of like cavier- a treat I guess based on price but the Nescafé house blend seems tastier for me. This was an attempt at getting cleaner coffee but not sure if this made the mark. Nothing was really special about it.

I have been shifting from brewed decaf coffee to instant decaf coffee, because I've wanted the flexibility of having coffee at different point of the day. I've tried a number of brands, including, most recently, Mount Hagan decaf and Community Coffee Cafe Special decaf. I've also tried the store brands and Jacobs, but I didn't care for them, primarily because they're punishing when they cool. Here are my thoughts on the three coffees, in alphabetical order:Community Coffee Cafe Special Decaf instant (also purchased through Amazon): easily my least favorite of the three. Tasted like more like instant unsweetened iced tea than coffee. Very little coffee characteristics and I tried 1 tsp (almost tasteless) and 2 tsp. Nothing worked. Couldn't finish the jar. At least it was consistent at different temperatures, so it gets a second star. Just not very good. 2 stars.Highground Instant Decaf: About as good as I think a decaf could get -- kind of like an average brewed coffee. Comparable to New Jersey diner coffee. Not complex an any way, just a solid cup of coffee. Goes well with milk or black. It's actually more flavorful as it cools. No unpleasant aftertaste. Probably best with 1.5 -2 tsp. This is my go-to brand.Mount Hagan Instant Decaf: Very similar to Highground in every respect, except that it did leave a somewhat unpleasant after-taste, which was worse when drinking the coffee black. 4 stars.Looking forward to trying a few other brands, including Clipper and Cafe Altura, but I may stick with Highground for awhile.
