Same issues with this one as the Pacific Crest Trail one. I really can't give these as gifts because of how they look. Oh well. Buyer beware.

This patch is a must have....imagine you are dirty smelly and resupplying.... Someone might think hey look its a homeless guy buying ramen or possibly some deranged drifter looking for his next meal... This patch will insure them "its ok kids ...its just Hiker Trash" ... This patch will distinguish you as a hiker and then you will have no problems hitching a ride to town or back to the trail head.... Also it is like a chick magnet women will flock to you despite your trail funk and unkept appearance... Knowing that are Hiker Trash certified

To be honest I expected this patch to be kinda flimsy with a few loose threads that would get snagged and pull out ruining the patch. It is in fact very well made. The only qualm that I have is because it is sealed it is a little hard to sew onto my pack.
