I got this module so I wouldn't degrade my Arduino's internal EEPROM over time. If you're using this with a microcontroller, specifically Arduino, I recommend using the Sparkfun External EEPROM library and setting the memory type function to 128 in the setup. After that, the module will work perfectly with no problems. The only thing to consider is the pins are straight and not bent. I had to desolder the existing pins and solder some L-shaped pins to sit the module up without it covering my breadboard.

I use these to store passwords for my IOT project. When passwords change, I reflash the EEPROM rather than reload a new project to ESP/Arduino. They work great and lots of library support.

Product works as advertised/expected. I was supposed to receive 5 but got 4. Not horrible, but that dropped them to 3 stars.

nice little eeprom modules, except of the five I ordered two were not responding, turns out that in each case1 of the 8 pin were folded over during insertion into socket. found this out from using 866+ programmerafter straightening out worked fine. hope this help someone figure it out

Tested 3 of the 5 units. Using an EEprom test program. The program did not see any of the eproms. After hours of trying different ways to talk to the eproms, I tried using an I2C sketch that gives the ID for any unit, one at a time. and the two eproms I tried both showed ID 50 & 58 at the same time. Is this normal?Thank you for your TimeJames

It's tiny and works well. It would have been better if the i2c and power pins where not soldered already it would be better to have them stick out on the bottom of the board so it works in a breadboard right side up.

Works perfectly no problems finding code to work and play around with, reading and writing to the chip sectors, great for adding extra memory to micro controllers, and can easily be removed from the DIP seat for connection to your own circuits.
