These tee nuts put steel threads into wood without the need for counter boring. Just hammer the nut into a predrilled hole in the wood until flush and then fix in place with brad nails hammered through the holes in the base of the nut.

I am restoring seats in my vintage sports car, and several items originally came with blind nuts such as these. The original ones were nearly 60 years old, and the screws were frozen in the nuts. I found and ordered these as replacements that are very similar to the originals. Well made and work just as they should. Highly recommended.
