I got these to attach the slats on a bench and they worked well in my opinion. They went in with ease and the heads are way less visible when compared to other screws like deck screws especially with the black coating.

These 1 5/8” trim screws not available at any local building supply stores. Square drive on these is far superior to PH#1 (Phillips) drive. I bought to assemble 3/4” AC plywood top to 1/2” sides for portable (Paulk torsion box) workbench. Joints not glued so can replace top when damaged or worn by backing out screws. Also used same screws to assemble bottom and other sides together with glue. If drilling a clearance hole (helps prevent bridging) then the small heads of these trim screws countersink nicely below the finished face. I recommend these screws for fine work where larger head screws would not look as good.

Great screws. Very consistent screw head geometry. All of the threads are precisely cut and consistent from one screw to the next. They Grab and hold extremely well.Just be cautious when installing these with ungloved hands. There are almost always little pieces of metallic remnants (slivers) from the thread cutting process left on the threads which find their way into your hands when driving into wood with drill.
