Thought it was another "throwaway" kids music toy, but it's better than that. It's impressively durable and the sound is way better than I thought. Darn good kids toy.

It has a nice "child-like" quality, the thumb strap is not quite where I'd like it, but other than that it works very nicely. The simple guide book it comes with was exactly what I needed!I am 22...I always wanted one of these but mom said no 'cause they are noisy'. They sure are, if you are looking at this for your kid I recommend limiting playtime for your sanity. I expect it is like hearing a new violinist learning to play, eventually you know they could be good enough to play a concerto, but for now your ears are just hurt and are confused. In the accordion's case I'd say there is more confusion, and less ear-pain.Since I bought it for myself, it is a great purchase to bring up as a conversation starter.

This little accordion works just great. The sound isn't the best quality but it's Awesome for a basically $20 piece! It plays perfect scales so the notes are true and good. My 19 yr old son bought this as he wanted to try on this to see if it's going to be some thing he wants to learn (before buying a piece for $400...) he loves it. If you're a person who likes to challenge yourself on as many instruments as you can like he does, give it a try!Fine quality; it's definitely an "instrument" and not a "toy".Have fun!

My kids like it because it is fun squeezing in and out to make noise. Holding a button and squeezing in is a different note when squeezing out (...like a harmonica). So since the accordion is small, you can only get 2 short squeezes in for one set of notes before you have to squeeze out to use the other set of notes. This makes playing any regular song pretty difficult, if not impossible (...like Jingle Bells that requires the same note several times in a row won't work). You're limited to songs that switch back and forth between the 2 sets of notes. There are 3 air valve buttons for the left hand--2 are combination chords that can make any 8-year old sound professional, and the other I think is supposed to let you squeeze in or out without noise; if that's the case, it doesn't quite work (notes still play). Can't say I recommend this "instrument". I liked the Bontempi - Saxophone better.

Well I bought this for my nephew, but he's not old enough to be too interested in it yet (2). He likes me playing it for him, and he has tried it, so I think he will play with it in about a year at the latest. But I love love love playing with it! It's great fun to entertain him with and a great price. It works like a real accordion and seems decently made for the money

Love this little accordion. Very easy to play and a fun gift for our three-year-old. The instructions aren't that clear but it's really a toy - we're not planning on him joining a polka band any time soon or anything. Just wanted a fun toy to try to bring some more music into his life, and this is a great one. Schylling overall has been a great brand for our musical toys. This one is very well made for the price, and I hope we will get lots of play out of it.

I love this. If you've ever played harmonica, it's keyed the same; these are holes 3-10. You can look up diatonic harmonica tabs for music, and most of what fits on the natural notes of a diatonic harp will fit on this little accordion as well. A lot of Christmas carols and Americana type stuff. "The First Noel" and "Oh Susanna!" are both good starters. I've had two of these over the years, and they both work great. The first one lasted a long time.Would be five stars except for two problems. First, on the second one I got the high keys seem to leak a little bit so it makes managing the bellows travel hard. It's certainly very playable, and for $25 better quality than you might expect. Still. My more serious complaint is the thumb strap. It takes small, not adjustable, and will tear from the mount after enough play. It's not to hard to replace and/or modify, but still, knocks it off five stars.

It's a kids accordion. There's a limit to what you can play on it.That said, this thing has an awesome sound for what it is and is surprisingly well made. It's an actual instrument. My twin *almost* 3 year-olds can both play it (ok, they can operate it well enough to make lots of sound that is far more pleasant than other instruments) and they LOVE it. When I tested it at first, I was concerned the action would be a bit tough for them - but it hasn't been a problem at all for either.Downside, it's new and REALLY cool so they fight over it (I gave it as an early birthday gift to one of them), so I probably need to buy another one so they can fight over TWO of them. BUT - so far, it's also sturdy enough to have survived both the playing and the fights.

How delightful! This adorable little accordion is just right for budding young musicians, or those who are curious about how things work. The sound is pleasant - and not too loud, thankfully. So far, there doesn't seem to be a way to generate 'sour notes'! It's the perfect size for pre-schoolers, and the quality of construction can't be beat! Within hours of receiving the accordion, my daughter was conducting a 'sing along' with her grandmother! The tune played was made up (though there is sheet music provided), and nothing was sung/played in the same key at the same time... but boy, whatta 'hootenanny'!!!! The whole family will be enjoying this little item for a very long time, no question!

I recieved this for my son, i was told that it was next to new. In the picture it looked great. We recieved it in a timley manner (10 days earlier than expected, so thank you for that), when we opened the pkg we were very sad!! The box was written 4.99 on it, the accordian was BROKEN! It played but it was missing the strap to go over the had to hold on to to even play. The area where the sound/air comes out was torn. If i would of known the Condition, i would never of made this purchace. Shame on you.
