I purchased this as a birthday gift for my husband. He absolutely, hands down says this is the most comfortable directors chair he has ever sat in... and he, being 6ft 4", 250 lbs. has been through quite a few of them. This is a sturdy chair with a padded back and padded seat. I love it so much that I've requested it for MY birthday. It's a little expensive, but well worth it. It is very well made and I expect we will be the last one we'll have to buy.

Really heavy, difficult to fold and move, dubious quality (one of the two I ordered arrived broken.) Definitely not worth the price, especially for something made in China where you know they pay and treat their workers poorly. I added one star because they look nice and are comfortable.

I purchased this chair based on my satisfaction with the one I ordered several years back. This one is sturdy and comfortable, but it wobbles. It's not enough to send it back; when you sit, the weight of your body evens it out, but someone should have checked on this beforeshipping.

Very well made but too heavy for my use and the angle for back support is too far back. My posture needs a straight back.

I tried contacting the company prior to leaving this review. They did not reply. Attached you will find photos of the condition of the chair. Chair was purchased in January 2013. I don't expect products to last indefinitely but I do expect them to stand up to standard use for a reasonable amount of time. I am 5'11" and 220lbs, well below the 300lb weight limit. I have no children so no ones jumping up and down on it. It was just a chair; sit down, stand up, repeat. The chair backing originally tore about a year after the purchase and I just let it go. The seat screws sheared and sent me to the floor in July 2015, that was a bit much for me to just let go.

I exhibit at several art festivals each year and I have owned an Oak & Rope tall directors chair for ten years. It is a very good chair and has held up well. I tried one of the Hollywood 32" tall bamboo chairs at another artist's booth at the Central PA Festival of the Arts last year and loved it. I felt the Hollywood chair had a firmer backrest and better chair cushion. Earlier this month I ordered the Hollywood from Amazon. I must say I was a bit concerned because each day I tried to check the status of my order and all I got was a message saying it was preparing to ship. This went on for ten days, and then one day I received word that it was actually shipped and it arrived the NEXT DAY. Weird. The chair arrived well packaged and I used it at a local art fair that weekend. The chair is excellent, and I cannot say enough about it. If you do events where you spend several hours at a time sitting, yet you need to make eye contact with the perspective customer, then you know how important a solid, comfortable chair can be. This is the real deal, and I feel a solid investment in myself as an exhibiting artist.

This is an outstanding chair. Traditional director's chairs are convenient to transport around and mediocre to poor to use. They fold inwards on larger people and cut off the circulation in the thighs because of the pressure from the front edge of the seat fabric. That fabric's first job is to hold the left and right sides of the chair together, not provide comfort, and sitting in one for a few minutes reveals this. The Hollywood chair uses a frame to support the seat and tops it with a thick pad covered in heavy duty, weather-resistant fabric. One can sit in it for hours with no fatigue, no loss of circulation and no discomfort. The seat is wide and the back, angled for comfort as well. The deluxe bamboo version is also graceful in line, sleek in appearance, and the clear satin finish on the bamboo is classy. Place it in a row with every other director's-style chair out there and it is clearly different and superior. Quality of materials and construction all appear to be first-rate as well, so I expect to have and enjoy this chair until the cows come home.THEN, add in the optional add-on features--the swing-out foot rest, script or accessory pocket, drink holder and especially, the outstanding and capacious under-seat storage bag and its functional superiority blows past the competition.I have ordered accessories from their customer service people and rate them excellent as well: attentive, understanding, personable and very responsive.

Light but Durable. Very Comfortable. I bought one to try it out and now I will buy another one to complete a set for a breakfast table. The chair is very well made. I will probably even get the drink attachment for it. If you are looking for a directors chair . . . this is the one!
