This product fit my mower perfectly and I was afraid it would be a thin metal and would not protect the mower deck but I was pleasantly surprised that it was a thick metal which makes this product do its job and protects the deck.

I found the advice to pre-bend the rails with a slight curve and then install them with the curve reversed the best method to avoid a gap between the rail and the mower deck. After figuring that out they were pretty easy to install and look nice on the mower. I just used a pool chemical bucket to pre-bend the rails.

Obviously this should have already been equipped on the mower but this isn’t a mower not equipped with this guard review.It’s a guard review. Well there’s not much to say other than it’s a guard and it fits well and helps keep you mower looking rear pretty. I gave it 5 stars for ease of installation and function and the quality. I used cheap double stick tape on the backside and quick grips to hold it in place zero gaps and perfect fit. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I liked that it protects my Honda from wear and tear. You spend 800 dollars on a mower and want to keep it for a very long time id suggest buying these. they wont rust because there stainless as well. works as described and had the dealer mount it due to warranty on the mower. didn't want to crack the plastic deck installing myself but that's up to whoever buys them. Didnt even know they made these to searching one day. Just one other thing. Do keep the mower in a garage shed or something and out of the elements. it really helps keep the deck from getting really dull and the engine plastic as well.

Simple, but effective design. I am not sure why Honda doesn't make this accessory as standard equipment on a new lawnmower, especially for the price they charge for the mower. Relatively easy to install, but positioning the mower can be awkward. If you plan to put the mower up on a table or work bench, please have someone to help -- this is a heavy machine. In one of the reviews, someone suggested bending the strips before installation (concavity outward). I highly recommend this maneuver as it eliminates a gap between the mower and the strip -- just don't bend it too much.

Good product, should come standard with the mower.Finish on the strips are disappointing, because they are Japanese I expected perfection however in reality these will get scratched so it doesn’t matter.I used a 1/4 drill it because I didn’t have a 17/64, worked fine and the fasteners went in without an issue.I had a small gap, if I wanted to make sure not to have a gap I would clamp them in a few spots then drill the hole.Loctite is not necessary they are nylon lock washers.I used an all to mark the deck so the bit did t walk from the mark.And the washer goes on the inside of the deck to spread the load of the fastener not between the deck and strip.
