Needed some extra work. For some reason they put connectors on the ends that don’t work, so you have to cut them off and remove the shrink tubing. Then the cable splitter boot (rubber block thingy) is too close to the end so there’s not enough clearance in the pedal. Then you have to cut off the boot, pull apart the wires, and add connectors. There’s also no strain relief bushing to keep the cord from kinking and getting damaged as it comes out of the pedal - but none of the cords on Amazon seem to have this. And finally, the plug-in that goes into the machine is super tight! I would highly recommend going with a different cord that already has the connectors.

If you like the clamshell type foot controller instead of the old button type foot controller, this cable lead is for you. The old button type foot controller took ring terminals with screws. The clamshell takes a tiny little push-on connector, which is what this lead cable has. While it will not fit the button type foot controller, It fits perfectly into the clamshell foot controller, the type that has two wires going to the controller. If the clamshell style controller has three wires going to it, this cable will not work.

This plug fits my vintage 1951 201-2 Singer sewing machine exactly. However I did have to change the ends for the pedal part of the cord.I kinda expected I'd have to.The other plug, that goes into the machine fits nice and thight. !!!Plus there's plenty of wire to reach the wall outlet and the pedal on the floor.I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who is missing their cord or if theirs is worn out. There's also a seller on here .. Selling the led light bulb for these vintage Singer machines ... That's a game changer to !!

Turned my old Singer sewing machine new again. If you have the pedal you will save a lot of money just switching out the cord. Works great.

It was a tight fit at first but it worked fine. Much easier than trying to rewire, and not any more expensive.

I recently picked up an old singer sewing machine at an auction, dirt cheap.My intention was to turn it into some work of art, but my wife seen how nice it was and wanted to use the old girl.We ordered this cord for it, gave it a good cleaning, and the mending of my old clothes has taken off.

I found an old Singer 201-2 for $25 and the cord to the foot control needed to be replaced and also the electrical plug for the wall outlet. This cord was the exact replacement I needed, and it works great.It is a snug fit onto the machine.
