These are the same high quality OEM filters called for by my humidifier and they fit and function perfectly. Depending on your use and heating season, you may get by with 1 per season, but should have 2 to be on the safe side.

We live in Colorado and we use these in our furnace humidifier to put moisture in the air. Typical humidity is about 20% in the fall/winter. We can increase it to about 40% using these humidifier filters. Helps avoid static electricity when you walk across the carpet.

I would like clear up confusion that other reviewers have. These are not not filters. They are pads. They are designed to hold water that is subsequently evaporated into the air. When you install them you need to makes sure they that the water distribution tray at the top is clean and level so the water gets distributed evenly and has a better chance to evaporate.About half the water (about 9 gals per day) going into the humidifier is going to pass all the way through to the drain. The other half will evaporate and increase your home’s humidity. The water that passes through is supposed to carry some of the minerals from the water with it to slow the buildup of scale in the pad.The HC26E has a coating that makes them look brown and dirty as compared to the HC26P. This is normal. The coating is supposed to prevent mold and bacteria from building up on the pads.I’ve used these but I’m not sure they are worth double the price. When I don’t change the pads at least once a month during the winter scale from the water builds up on the pads and collects in the duct and in the air filter. Some of it seems to make it past the filter and leaves dust on all the furniture which makes me sure we must also be breathing it. Maybe it is just better to put up with dryer air.Spending $100 year on humidifier pads seems like a lot. I’m going to stick with the less expensive Honeywell/Resideo HC26P’s from now on.
