I had a 20 year old Ademco 6128 keypad which was failing due to many years of use. Specifically, the button contacts, especially the ones for the primary PIN codes, were barely responsive and often just dead. The 6148 replaced it in less than five minutes including the mounting the new plate (slightly different height). I just have to paint the wall around the top of the keypad now. This was a much quicker and better alternative to paying exorbitant amounts for new equipment that the alarm company wanted to sell me.

Very easy install! I replaced my 18 year old ADEMCO Vista-10SE with this 6148 and had no issues. Simply remove your old alarm panel and install the back plate. Then hook up the four wires as instructed. No need to turn off the power or reset any codes. You Tube videos gave this novice the courage to do it on by own. My new panel is a bit smaller, but everything else works like new. Saved major $$ doing it myself.

This Honeywell / Ademco 6148 is the perfect drop-in replacement for my previous Ademco 6128 keypad. I didn't want to mess with trying to program the extra keys on the 6150, and this one works great as it has the exact same keys as the 6128. In fact, installation was simply a matter of removing the old unit, moving the wires from the old unit to the new, and then attaching this new unit to the wall with the holes already drilled for the old unit. Two small difference going to this new 6148:- The keys are larger and more well lit, which is great.- The entire unit is a bit smaller.

I bought this unit to replace my Ademco 4110 keypad. Its not a bad price and was not difficult to install. However, I had to cut off a pre-existing connector and wire each wire into this new one. It works exactly like my old one, and required absolutely no reprogramming! However, the only downside of this is, it is not indicated how to wire this unit into the connector on the circuit board. The color schematic is given, but each wire does require to be stripped. also, be sure you are grounded and static free when installing! Avoid touching any circuits on the board with your fingers. Oils in skin can reduce life on components on the circuit board.

"This keypad perfectly replaced our old one. We have alarm sys Ademco-Vista 10se. No need to turn off the power to replace the keypad. Take out the old keypad. Connect old wires to new keypad (the instructions for which wires go where come with the new keypad). Also, once the new keypad is hooked up, the old passwords (number sequences) automatically work. No need to reset anything. Took about 15 minutes
