ONCE INSTALLED IT LOOKS BETTER THAN THE PIVTURE AND EASY TO INSTALL

I'll start from the end. Once I got this on, I felt like it was kind of an independent choice. It is entirely decoration (maybe it forms a little tiny pocket of insulation with dead air space?) but it does make the truck a bit more different from all the rest of them. I'll reserve my final judgement on this until I've gotten used to it a bit. Now, on to installation. Everything went pretty well. I was careful to clean the hood where it got installed. Then I taped it off so that I would know exactly where it was supposed to get placed when I was ready. Next was the included pads. There are two sets of two pads each. I put pic's up. The catch for me was I didn't really know which to use first or if it mattered. I went with the wet wipe (it had a little drop emblem on it) then with the one marked primer. I wasn't sure and I'm really still not sure. I took the backing off the two sided tape on the back of the scoop, brought it out to the truck, lined it up, and stuck it on. That part went well for me. It is plastic so there was a little warp. I'd warmed it in the sun a bit but everything went together better with some weight on it for about 15 minutes. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.I kind of wish that it had a bit of a matte finish; it's a bit shiny for me. Well, the side mirrors are shiny too but they're smooth and the scoop is textured. I have a tiny issue that a little bit of the gray color from the tape is showing along the seam at the front. I may try to figure out a way of blacking that without painting my hood. I will likely live in fear for a little while that it'll come loose while I'm driving and smash my windshield or something. That's probably just my paranoia. That tape is pretty strong but I'll be watching...

You get what you pay for…but I just could get myself to put this on my new truck..flimsy plastic but then again it’s under $100. The OEM hood scoop for my truck was and still is $450. I decided not install on my truck - as far as the seller goes? Accepted return and refunded me with no issues

I have a Ford Maverick truck and been slowly fixing it up with trim accessories. While browsing Amazon one day for Maverick accessories a suggestion displayed for this hood vent cover that was compatible with my truck so I decided to order it.Once it arrived I was eager to install it, which only took a few minutes. I simply made some marks with blue tape, remove the 3m tape on the back of the hood vent and used a hair dryer to heat the tape up and then placed it on the hood. I pressed down on all edges for 30 seconds each. Once installed the truck looks more tough and it really complimented all the other black trim. The hood vent is not a flat black but a bit shinny. I have driven the truck at high speeds and the hood vent stays on nice and solid. I was really happy with this purchase.

Okay, so to clarify, we haven't installed this on our truck yet because it is just getting to be winter here right now and we think it will be better to wait until the temperatures are warmer and there isn't road salt all over the place because we want nothing to potential hinder the adhesion process, so warm and salt free conditions is what we are waiting for. With that said, I really think this is going to look awesome on the truck! I ordered this only because someone reviewed it and included pictures of what it looks like on their white truck and I think it's going to look fantastic in our hot chili pepper red one. We also have the tailgate cover and Maverick lettering in black and this is just going to make our truck pop even more. I was a bit surprised by the shininess of it and the texture, it is hard to see that, I feel like, in the pictures of it in the white truck, but I like the shine, which I feel will compliment the paint finish well, and the textures vs smooth surface should make it easier to clean off any dirt and debris. Installation seems simple enough as this just has some adhesive stripes that allows you to peel and stick this in the hood, though with that said, we will be taking this to our accessories dealer to have them put it on for us, just to make absolutely sure it is applied as cleanly and pristinely as possible. It feels solid in construcrion and should hold up quite well. I can't wait until we can install it and I will certainly be back with pictures once we do!

It took me a couple of days to adjust to the look of this hood scoop on my Maverick. I was on the fence for the first couple of days as to whether I liked it or not. Now that it has been on for a few weeks, I like the look of my Maverick with the hood scoop. The installation was really easy, took me less than five minutes to complete the install. The longest part of the install was making sure that I had it centered on the hood. The tab on the back side was really helpful as it held the scoop in place while doing the prep and the final adjustments. The only thing that I am not really excited about is that it is really glossy, it does match the black plastic trim on the truck and my fender flares pretty closely so it really isn't that big of an issue. The 3M tape holds the scoop firmly in place, even at 80 MPH for an extended time it doesn't move at all. I also like that there is a little gap in the 3M tape at the bottom so any condensation or moisture that might get underneath the scoop can drain easily. For the price, quality, look, and ease of installation I would definitely call this a great value.
