Wishful thinking but I was going with the thought that flies were going away and cool weather was coming. After my gelding ripped his fly sheet, I thought I would be okay not purchasing another one until next year. Wrong. Things got damp and the flies seemed to come out of nowhere again!This fly sheet works wonders and seems to even deter the horseflies. The material is smooth and soft. It’s simple to put on and fits well. I have noticed my gelding sweating underneath but when I take it off of him the flies come back with a vengeance!The coverage this blanket offers is excellent. It’s just roomy enough for rolling and movement without him getting tangled. It protects the majority of his body. If you have a horse with light skin, it would also be nice for sun protection.

While I do think this fly sheet is great for the price, it is certainly not made with Lean thoroughbred shapes in mind. My 17 hand thoroughbred gelding is very sensitive to bugs and will break out in hives and get scabs, so he has to wear a fly sheet way later in the year than most horse's. He is a size 81 in most blankets, so that is what I ordered for him. The length of this fly sheet fits him nicely and did not cause any rubs, but the bottom part is SO loose on him. I have the straps tightened/shortened as much as possible and it still leaves a lot of material hanging down. I think if you had a draft or a thick quarter horse, this sheet would be perfect for you, but it doesn't offer optimal coverage for leaner horses.Even still, this sheet held up SO well with 24/7 use for over a month before I took it off. That's a huge win considering how rough my boy is on his blankets!
