This is strong! It's super well made and beefy. The magnet holds well. If I want less give I just wrap the rope through it twice. It's nice to have a safe way to tie my horse with a little give in case she spooks.

I have a fussy horse and he has a habit of breaking ties when he's feeling restless. I heard about these from a friend and ordered one to put in my trailer so I could tie my horse when we're on the go.This thing is awesome. You put the lead rope through and then close the magnetic clasp over it, that way, if they pull back, they don't break a tie and flip over backwards but rather have a gentle release from the tie ring.Honestly, I think these are an absolute must-have for every barn and every trailer. I wouldn't use these inside the trailer per se, but if you're tying your horse to any solid object, this little gadget will give you so much peace of mind knowing that your horse can't snap a tie, hurt someone or flip themselves over and hurt themselves. Highly, highly recommend.

I wanted this to actually hold a bridle (on a wall and not attached to my horse!), but had misgivings about how sturdy this would be, and was it just a "gimmick" thing that wouldn't work well. The design is ingenious, and made in such a way that if you flip a bridle through it and swing up / close the "gate" as I call it, the magnet is strong enough to hold it closed, and if the horse pulls against it, it just pulls it closed even harder.So it's great! Simple, pretty, and very well made! Great job, designer!

Ok this is an immediate review and I will give an update as it is used more to ensure things haven’t changed. Initially on opening the hook was thicker and heavy than expected. Thats a good thing. I took this to my friends stables and she used it over the weekend repeatedly. We found it easy to use, a better quality and heft than the one she had been using and when I told her the cost she was even more impressed. The local feed and stable store was much more expensive and didn’t carry as good a gage as this one. She asked to keep it so it’s a good sign. Even one of the people in the neighboring stall took at look at it and was impressed.For the price and quality this is a winner all the way around

I got this tie ring to work with my horse on standing for hoof-trimming. He foundered last year and now has some sensitivity to foot handling that he did not have before.This is a well-built product that allows easy tie-down for me, and a little comfortable freedom for him. It arrived with a carabiner and eyelet screw and installed easily in a 4x4 post in my barn. I drilled a hole slightly smaller that the eyelet screw shaft and twisted it in easily. The carabiner allows me to easily move the tie-ring to another location as needed.The magnet is strong enough to hold the lead in place, but light enough to allow me to one-hand the release. I have a couple of knots in my lead to allow a couple of feet of play without letting him fully pull the lead loose. His re-training is going well!

This works very well on young green horses that fly back and spook easily . It has helped us greatly with one horse in particular .
