Was looking for some smaller gauge rod to weld sheet metal and went with this, hoping it would be what i needed. None of the rods worked whatsoever, it has very poor arc strike and will not keep an arc whatsoever, even if you try burning hotter than what its rated for. I ended up using my excalibur 3/32 rod instead. This was a wasted product, after trying with 3 rods to stike an arc and keep an arc i gave up. Now i dont know if the QC allowed moisture into the rods or not, they did come in a sealed package but not vacuumed. Better off sticking with a name brand rod.

El electrodo necesita mas de la corriente descrita en el empaque, ya que menor a esta se pega en el material no crea un arco muy bueno.

Great little rods I ordered these for my hot max 110 stick welder and they are the best welding rod I have used with my welder so far and I have been using this welder for 10 years and other rods have had trouble filling gaps they would look like they made a good weld but when you nock the slag off the middle would have a crack and you have to weld and clean the slag off and weld again till it was a solid weld joining the two pieces of metal... but I have had good luck with these rods will boy from now on

Now that's how items should arrive. All items secured,no room for movement and everything intact. Have not had the best of luck with items arriveing without something being wrong, broken, missing items, wrong items, and so on so this is welcome change maybe things are looking up and items work no moisture in packageing and strike arc like they are suppose to so secret is to order several so packed in box and not envelope and better protection.

I bought this to join some 1/8" rolled steel on some cabinets I was making. There is nothing wrong with this stick, but I never really found a consistent amperage for it, seemed to vary between 40 and 60 amp from stick to stick. I ended up back using my tried and true standard Hobart H117125-RDP 6013 5/64". For me, this rod burns consistently at 50 amp with a really easy start and nice very low spatter flow. The Hot Max may work great for you but not so much for me.

I ordered these to use with a Campbell Hausfeld 115v stick welder and they work great on the high amp setting. The lower amp setting is for 1/16 rods. I've been welding 1/8" scrap with these with no problems. These produce good clean welds with a little practice.
