This block looks just like the Sun Purity brand mineral blocks I've been using for years in my hot tub. I don't notice any difference from the original. The price on these is much less than the name brand, but they don't come with any instructions or literature. The Sun Purity have stickers to tell when to change them. This one doesn't so you'll have to keep track by writing it down somewhere. Other than that it works like a mineral block.

I admit, I was very skeptical that these would clean up the water but as you can see in the before picture (the one where I’m holding the puck) and the after picture, the slight cloudiness and slight green coloration of the water became crystal clear and blue over a 3 day period. I didn’t add any other chemicals to interfere with the puck’s performance. I don’t believe this would replace chlorine/bromine etc because you still need to sanitize the water but these definitely help the water to bluer and clearer longer. I’m a believer now!

I am ALWAYS looking for ways to keep my spa/hot tub clean because it gets a lot of use, and I'm the only one who showers BEFORE using it. I can't compare these to the Sundance originals because I never used them, but so far I am thrilled with the results of using these. I often get cloudy water if I skip even a day of sanitizing (we have an Airbnb so heavy use) but these seem to clear it up really quickly. I have no idea how they work, and I'll update if my original impression changes, but so far they are just as good as the enzymes I used to use (Spa Magic - before they went out of business). Highly recommend!

This tub filter is not the only thing that is needed to keep the water clean. I clean my tub once a month. This tub filter simply passes water through mineral particles. Having this however doesn't exclude the need for chlorine if used for a pool. If all other uses, chlorine is not necessary.I always shower before using tub. However, even after showering, the tub has residue here and there especially when I use bathbomb. As far as I can tell, there is no much difference between using this filter vs not using this filter.
