Really not impressed with the printing quality. It isn't very sharp. Very disappointed for the price of what it cost.

We had an all in one HP printer for years. It used cartridges. I had bought both HP replacement cartridges as well as generic ones and it ran great. All of a sudden the new cartridges weren't working. This included both the HP and generic. When I complained about it I was told that the cartridges that we bought ahead were too old as they had imbedded serial numbers that had expired. This was due to a firmware update. So I was stuck with quite a few dollars invested in useless cartridges. We decided to purchase a new HP but with the refillable ink bottles. It works great! Same scan and fax features with remote printing as well. We also got a great deal as the printer we bought was a return with slight cosmetic damage.

I love the simplicity and how easy it is to print, scan, and most of all install. If my mother can install, connect it to wifi without my help, that speaks volumes.I would 100% buy this again and I highly recommend it over brother, canon, and other competitors on the market.P.S. Use genuine HP INK to ensure quality :)

I purchased this product/printer for home use very minimal and the reason I picked this specific one is because the ink lasts longer then normal printers! I had a bad experience with it from day one, the printer couldn’t pick up internet connection which was very frustrating. Another problem the paper gets jammed now I am unable to use it. Amazon will not take responsibility for it since it’s been a few month since I bought it, it’s very upsetting that I was never able to use it since it never worked properly and now I have to buy another printer. I do not recommend this product. I do not give this any stars I had to put one since this review would not go through otherwise.

It makes a lot of noise, the print quality is average, the ink consumption is good and the installation is easy but it did not print the whole document or had network connection failures, I rate it wrong. that's why I'm requesting my money back and the team's back.

I just received and set up the new printer without issue. I’m certainly not super tech savvy, so I appreciate basically setting up a printer that is fairly plug-in and go. There’s the unpacking and the setting up of course, but with the easy and obvious steps mapped out in the Starter guide everything was straight forward. Filling the ink tanks was super easy and clean without one drop of ink out of place. I like being able to fill the tanks where I want and support fully not being tied to the ink cartridges anymore. The printer I had before went kaput with full ink carts plus a set in reserve—all to waste! Ink carts are expensive and once the printer is older new printers are using new carts which leave older carts obsolete and unusable in newer printers. This is a waste of product, and all the energy it cost to make and ship, as well as the cost of about 100 dollars in unused ink expense to me. I absolutely refused to replace my broken printer with another specific cartridge based printer. Plus the bottled ink is much less expensive than the carts and you can see your ink levels, cause everyone knows those ink levels are sketchy. You do have to download an app to use, but that also seems fairly well designed, straight forward, and easy to use. I’m feeling very hopeful

Upon unboxing, this printer is huge. Reminds me of an 80s-90s device as far as size goes. But I’m not going to give up on this printer because of its size.I was gravitated to the idea of saving on ink and I have yet to see how much I do save on ink (unboxed a few days ago) then I will update my review. The print output was good, nothing that concerned or amazed me. The hp print app is ok, pretty basic, nothing like adobe where you get a lot of features/ tools to play around with for your prints. Simple button console, no scan button on the printer (but in app). I do hope in the long run that this printer was worth it.Update: Did buy this from the Amazon Warehouse, in very good condition. At first the printer was printing fine, I did notice horizontal lines on color photo prints using especially Cyan, but I didn’t think much and attempted several printer head cleanings but the head cleanings never improved and cyan was disappearing from the head cleaning results. Print quality got even more poor. Did several alignments with no improvement, reports came out poor on both printer maintenance actions that are supposed to improve the print quality. The used printer did arrive with both head packages already opened. Returning. Will likely buy a brand new one rather.

Well now that we're stuck with in home learning a printer that could handle daily use was a necessity. I'm still a little hesitant about the purchase price but hopefully the ink will last as long as it claims and it will all be worth it. Setup was a little intimidating and confusing, the picture guide was not extremely helpful, I really would have preferred some more instructions, especially when it came to printing on my Android devices. It gave instructions for iOS and basically said figure out the differences on your own. After we got through the painful setup everything else has been a breeze. The HP Smart App makes printing from any device easy. I swap back and forth scanning and printing between all the family's devices. I was really impressed by the scanner function, it gave high quality hi res scans of my photos amazing! I love that I can scan documents or photos from any of my devices and it goes straight to that device so handy. Connecting seamlessly to google drive and photos from all our different accounts and devices is so handy. Printer is very quiet, print quality is great, handles colored pages and book pages really well. Of course it's not a specialty printer for doing hi res photo prints, it's a workhouse so everything is great.

This is not my first time using a printer. I've used Canon printers and Epson printers before. The best experience is with the Epson printers. I did thousands of prints, most of them are photos and arts. And they were all good with that. But for this printed, the HP smart tank plus 551, I got the worst experience. This printer is okay for document prints which an 70 bugs printer can do properly as well. But I spent several hundred dollars for a printer that can print art and photos properly. Well, the experience is awful which I don't even know where to start. For each several pages of prints for art and photos, I have to do a printhead check and alignment. Because the colors goes wilder and wilder by each page the printer prints. Every time, only the first page looks great and then missing color lines starts to appear, and about forth to fifth page of the print mission, the printing results become unacceptable, totally not satisfied. And for about 200 pages of prints, one of the printheads is out of service and need to be exchanged to a new one. What the...? For my last Epson printer, I use it for five years and I never need to exchange the printheads because the printer can do self printhead checks and cleanings properly and the printhead never out of service. This HP printer, brand new, after about 200 prints, the printhead cannot clean itself even I did printhead cleaning and alignment for about 10 times, the printhead just broke! And it tells me I need to exchange a new one? I cannot bear this printer anymore. This is the first time I really want to get my money back for a printer. No more needs to say.
