Why to change the valve?
The check valve prevents air from going into the compressor head from the tank. It need to be replaced when it does not close during compressor shut down and allows air to leak back into the compressor head.

CONNECTION SIZE
1/2" MNPT tank check valves are used to keep air volume and pressure from escaping back into compressor heads while not operating. The 1/8" FNPT side port is designed for pressure switch application.
TWO FITTINGS
The valves check valves are all brass and It comes with 2 different unloader fittings, barbed and push to fit for the 1/4” nylon unloader tubing.
CONSTRUCTION
One piece brass body stainless steel springs glass filled fluoropolymer poppets for positive sealing and long term reliability. It can be disassembled for cleaning and repairing. Maximum pressure of 450 PSI and air flow of 20 SCFM.

These are a "wear item" in your compressor and it sucks when they die and your unloader valve sticks open. This bolted in with no drama and the thread size matched the description.

Anyone who has ever worked on shop air compressors knows how much fun they are to have working with no problems.. Air is a BIG DEAL For me and for most shops. So when this valve is not working properly from the factory it usually doesn’t get any better with just replacing it. Oh heck no, usually the compression fitting is on its last seal and all the parts that need to be removed is just a pain in the ass. Now the supply line has kinked and leaking and it’s a special kind of part too. Ahh the endless fun with low quality parts from Amazon again…

My compressor had set for 3 years after moving (and waiting to get my new shop built and wired). The old check valve rusted shut. This one fit on my Kobalt 2-stage, 3.7 HP as a direct replacement. I would like to see the seller call out more dimensions in the ad. Overall height on this one is taller, but the height from the top of the nut to the overall top of the valve is the same (which is what is important since the compressor cylinder to tank is plumbed with a preformed brass pipe and not easily modified). Quick fix - only took about 15 minutes to install.

I had acquired a Craftsman 25 gallon air compressor several years ago, but never used it, so it basically sat in my shed for years until I recently decided to get it up and running. I knew I needed to put in some fresh oil and check the main parts, including the check valve. When I took the old one out, it was somewhat corroded but still in working order, but I wanted to replace it with a new one just to be safe. Lo and behold, the exact replacement piece was no longer available. That's when I searched around and found this one, Hromee Air Compressor Replacement Components Brass 1/2 Inch MNPT Compressor in Tank Check Valve Kit .While the dimensions were slightly different (this one was slightly longer), it fit the tank perfectly and was a good replacement part. From what I can tell, the compressor is working perfectly and I have a brand new compressor for my shop. I would say just measure carefully and compare the old one to the new one as best as you can before ordering, because I actually had ordered another one first and top compression inlet was the wrong size so I had to send that one back.I would recommend this kit for replacing your check valve.
