I ordered one of these bits to drill a hole through 15 inches of maple from a bowling alley which had been assembled with nails as well as glued. The bit ran true, a concern I had for a drill bit that long, and it cut the wood and nail combination with little trouble. I ordered two additonal drills to have on hand in the future. I did not drill any solid metal holes but as well as it cut the nails I would assume that it would perform in an equally professional way. The speed of shipping was also excellent.
