These knives are great value, however, softer than Freud's HSS planer knives. You will get Knicks in these blade more often. The thing is, I used to pay $20 per blade to get the sharpened, so now I just order a new set each time. Makes sense to me and I turn the knives into artwork once I remove them from my machine.

Don’t even bother getting these. Shattered. Something this dangerous/poorly made shouldn't be sold. I had minimal damage to the planer, but I got lucky. You might not be. Get OEM ones or something from a reputable company. I’ll say it again, don’t buy these

Replaced the knives in my Grizzly G1033 after years of use. These were much cheaper than ordering from Grizzly and of course the free shipping makes them an even better deal. Installed and running fine.

The knives are sharp, as one would expect them to be. While I have only run the planer w/these knives a few hours, I would say they are holding their edge after planing some very hard (white oak, ash) boards. There are probably some harder knives out there, they cost considerably more, so I'd say for the money, these are good knives, at least for the home shop users. For professional ( heavy use) users, I might suggest the costlier knives, so you don't have to change as often.

I have a 20" Grizzly planer, and have used the laminated Grizzly knives for several years, thought I'd try to safe some cost and regret it. We probably don't have 200 BF of African Mahogany and Walnut through these knives, and we are getting significant track marks, tear-out, and the blades are noticeably dull, requiring honing earlier than I every experienced with Grizzly knives. The $30 I saved on purchase is wasted on the fact I need to replace them after 1 month of installation. For what it's worth, on I cannot see any evidence visually that these knives are laminated- I can on the Grizzly knives.
