We have been looking for comfortable men’s socks for years. These are the ones! Soft, not tight at the ankles, don’t slip down, lightweight and so comfortable.

I bought these a few years ago, and so far all four pairs are still holding strong. The color has held up well as well. I enjoy how comfortable they have been.

Nice socks but waaay to tight at top. My legs are not really big but do swell slightly after standing awhile. These were so uncomfortable I couldn't wear out the door. Gave them away.

Some of you reading this might remember a sock company named Bombas, which advertised their socks heavily on the radio as "the most comfortable socks in the history of feet". Well, I got several pairs of them, and I can tell you that, at least for me, Bombas are, in fact, the most UNcomfortable socks, at least in my history! They're too thick and heavy, too tight, too hot, and at the end of the day, they leave red marks on my ankles. But you aren't reading this to learn about Bombas. I only mentioned those because they're misleading you by making that comfort claim. If you really want the most comfortable socks in the history of feet, or at least the most comfortable socks money can buy on Amazon, then forget about Bombas and get yourself a pair (or two or three or four or a hundred) of Hugh Ugoli socks instead. Because in my experience, Hugh Ugoli really does make the most comfortable socks in the history of feet!I purchased several pairs of Hugh Ugolis because I needed dress socks to match a couple of suits I got recently. The first time I got around to putting a pair on was the evening of a hot, sticky day. I was tired and hot, and my feet decidedly had had the worst of it. I pulled off the socks I'd been wearing, and pulled on my new Hugh Ugolis, and... wow! I don't normally get excited about socks, but these were something special. My first sensation was their pure softness. I'm not sure I even have the words to tell you how amazingly soft these socks are. The closest I can imagine would be if you were to fill a container with cotton balls and put your feet in them. The only thing I can think of that would be softer would be walking on a cloud, if such a thing were possible. My second sensation was gentle coolness, as if there were a fresh, cool breeze of air blowing gently on my feet. It actually felt as if the socks were wicking the heat away from my feet and ankles. So refreshing! I immediately felt a spring in my step.Even after I finished dressing and put my shoes on, my feet and ankles continued to feel refreshingly cool, as well as pampered by the softness. And despite having elastic that's so gentle you barely know it's there, these socks do a pretty good job of staying up.I held off writing this review until I'd sent my socks through the laundry, just to make sure these phenomena weren't just from some new material coating or a factory-fresh thing. I've owned other bamboo fiber products and had mixed results with them. Fear not, the softness and heat wicking properties were just as noticeable after laundering as before. These are very impressive socks!I only have two negative things to say about these Hugh Ugoli socks. The first is the name -- oooh, what bad marketing! Hugh Ugoli sounds a lot like "you ugly"! But my mother used to say that if you have a funny name, there are really only two things you can do: change it or make it famous. I'm guessing Mr. Ugoli is trying to do the latter, and I think he's onto something. Yeah, it's an awful name for a fashion product, but trust me, I will never forget it, particularly when shopping for socks. The second is that I've always been an athletic socks kind of guy during the work week. No longer. It's not enough for me to have Hugh Ugolis on my feet when I wear those couple of suits. Now I want Hugh Ugolis the rest of the week, too! I need to buy more socks...

I ordered some socks for a family member for Christmas. He wears an 11. His feet are not wide. These are very nice, but they're too small for him. I kind of expected this, so I had "backup socks" for him and just took these for myself. I'm a woman and wear an 8 or 8.5M, and these are a little large for me, but fine.I have worn Hugh Ugoli bamboo socks for a few years, and they're very soft and comfortable, but not very durable. These are acting so far like my previous pairs, so I don't expect them to last too long, but they are nice for the short term.Fyi, if you are also a men's 11 or 12, the other socks I gave were the "Hugh Ugoli Diabetic Socks for Men," size 11-13, and they fit the recipient much better than these did. I'd suggest looking at those.

I had previously purchased this brand of bamboo rayon socks in ankle length, and was impressed at how well they held up. Certainly not as durable as cotton/lycra blends, but SO much more comfortable. These are regular length, and they are not at all constricting on the calf. They are identical to the ones I previously purchased except for the length.

8/19/2024: Stars up from 3 to 5. Still my go-to socks. You can tell I like them since this is edit #5. :-} Still have to cut top off, the part that's supposed to keep them up, otherwise tops act like a mild tourniquet. I'm large for a woman, but not that large.Edited 5/2/2024: These are lovely socks. They really are...for people who do not have medical issues (just diagnosed cellulitis). With previous buys, black, heather, and gray, I've cut the tops off and additional cuts to accommodate my legs with little stricture. Plain and simple, these socks are for normal ankles, not an 82-year-old woman with ankle swelling issues. These may be the best quality socks I've ever bought, but they still leave me searching for a company that produces socks as wide and stretchy as it claims it does.Edited yet again 02/12/2024: I really do like these socks and have just ordered again, the gray-black. As mentioned in December, I prefer the feel and stretch of this color. Don't think the difference is my imagination. :-}Edited 12/27/2023: Since my original order of gray, I've purchased these same socks in black and sort of a gray-black "heather"). Texture-wise each color feels slightly different. If/when I order more, they will be gray-black, which seems to have the most "give." Although, it is tempting to order burgundy. :-}Original review: Over the past few years, I've spent considerable money trying new sock buys that disappoint. Whatever the description, do not believe it if it says the tops don't bind. On virtually every sock buy, they do. These are by far the best I've found, however the top is tighter than I like so I cut tops off. (Have this thing about feeling like there's a tourniquet any place on my leg.) These are soft. The seams are visible, but you do not feel them. The knit is not off kilter (with too many socks heel and toe seams don't seem to be aligned). They wash and dry well. I'm ordering more. Maybe a different color.
