I have a similar tool that I can use standing up, but the Hula Hoe Mini is much better made and does the job of scraping weeds from the garden a breeze.

I looked for ages to find a small stirrup hoe that actually "shuffles" back and forth. This one is it! It is solidly built, and works excellently. I expect many years of help in the garden from this tool.

Small and not as good as I expected when I tried to get the weeds out. I have to do it rover and over again in order to get the weeds out.

I have heard these called shuffle hoes and Polish hoes, whatever the name they make quick work of weeding open areas. Basically it is a blade that can move a bit back and forth. You use downward pressure to force the blade under the soil and than draw the blade towards or away from you cutting the weed off at the blade level. I have a long handled version of this that i use between tomato plants or anywhere i need to weed. I bought this to use on my raised bed. It's very nicely made of stainless steel, better made than my long handled version.
