These are designed for the humidifiers that require them, but they work just as well to minimize contaminants in a hot humidifier that has the essential oil feature. FAR less expensive than the humidifier manufacturer's brand. Only essential is that you measure what is already in your humidifier to be sure this isn't under-or-over-sized.

I received these yesterday and put two of them in my bedroom humidifier and turned it on. Woke up this morning with the white dust and film on the outside of my humidifier, top of my dresser and on the lens of my readers. I'm not sure how long I need to wait for these to work but I would assume they should work right away. I will see what tonight brings after changing the water.

Keep the water sanitized and I'm noticing. Less unwanted minerals and white powder around the container.

Is orbs seem to be working. Before I added one to the water in my ionizing humidifier, there was white dust all over everything in my room (floor, nightstands, bureaus, etc. etc.)! I put one of the orbs into my humidifier, and I do not see any white dust at all in my room. I hope it continues to work for a few more weeks. It has only been in the humidifier for one week, so, so far so good!
