I wanted a natural product to leave out for hummingbirds, especially because I bought a red glass feeder to avoid the harm and hassle of food coloring and additives and/or preservatives. This food is perfect. I like that it comes in a powder, so provides a way to prepare as little or as much as I want. My feeder only holds13 ounces, and each packet makes 16 ounces. So, I either measure out half the powder weight and adjust the water, or just make the full packet amount and use a little bit at a time (very hot days here, even in shade), leaving the jar of prepared mixture in the refrigerator. My hummingbirds like fresh “nectar.”

Surprised by some comments. Math class to mix one person said? Huh? Like 2 cups per package?Well, this is great food and it’s very easy. Cleaning the feeder is key. I use little pitcher that seals tightly. I go out with a little tub with soapy water EVERY 2 DAYS ( not a week), dump the spent nectar, clean in the soapy water and rinse with hose. Fill.I always have a hummer on my feeder.

This product makes it easy to mix and store hummingbird food and extra food is easier to store in the refrigerator for frequent changes. Most hummingbird food usually comes in large size plastic bottles that are too bulky in the refrigerator. I will continue to purchase this poduct.
