Works like a charm, even on smaller lakes. Mapping is accurate and GPS works well.

I owned locators for years,never having a chip and using the built in maps. I went on one trip with a guide and saw what I was missing. I immediately went and bought a lakemaster chip to install in locator to unlock it's potential.

Worked perfectly, lots of lakes, very detailed. A bit pricy when other brands include nearly the same level of detail already in their units.

The new color pallets made the lake "pop" and it helped me zero in on so many new spots on a lake I've fished my entire life. Love it.....the google maps overlay is useless feature....and smartstrike is a bit of a gimmick.

Pro: initially had an issue getting Helix unit to recognize the map. The problem was not the map it was me not understanding directions . After following direction I put the chip in and turned Helix on snd chip was found and worked great on my fishing trip.Con:I wished the first year it had multiple updates as other mapping companies have. I could not use one of them because of the new trolling motor I just ordered is supposed to use the map (yet to be tested).
