I only took off a star because doing the drilling to install the small ball was a b* tch! Other than that the rest was no problem.

Works very well. Good buy. Makes a huge difference in the way the truck pulls our trailer

Used on our travel trailer hitch. Keeps the trailer level with the pickup truck and the sway bar keeps the trailer straight behind the truck. Also helps reduce bouncing over bridge abutments and it helps against traveling in high winds. Great product. Also keeps the truck level.

Hitch installation instructions are minimalistic but clear. It took a fair amount of time (several hours) to install and get everything adjusted so the trailer is level. My first attempt the ball was too low and I had to pull everything apart and adjust upward. But once set up I'll never have to do it again for this trailer. But my biggest complaint is with the rivets that hold the "catches" for the spring bars. The second time I used the hitch the rivets fell out and the spring loaded catches fell off - leaving nothing to hold the main bars in place. Fortunately I was at home, not on the road somewhere. I drilled and tapped the rivet holes and inserted #10x24 threaded bolts to hold the catches in place. (See photos). Now I don't have to worry about losing them while on the open road. I deducted two stars from the rating due to this obvious engineering defect.

I bought this WDH to replace an older straight bar unit I inherited which was designed for a heavier camper than my 16 foot Casita. I was impressed with the quality of construction right out of the box. A little less so with the instructions. But that just might be me. Everything you need is in the box including a pre-torqued 2 inch ball.It takes a while to get it set up right, so set aside an afternoon. Searching for YouTube videos before I started gave me a better idea of what I was up against. I suggest you load your tow vehicle (in my case, an '05 4Runner) and your trailer as you would if you were going camping. If you don't, the geometry will change and you won't get the full benefit of the WDH.The receiver on my 4Runner has rounded inside corners so I had to grind down the edges of the tongue about an eighth of an inch on each corner to get it to fit. Make sure to check yours before you started. An 18v DeWalt angle grinder with a heavy duty sanding disk did the trick. If you don't have something like that, take it to someone who does. Or use it as an excuse to buy a new tool. I measured the distance the tongue would be inserted into the receiver, marked it with masking tape and ground to that point. A little primer and paint made the alteration invisible.I encountered some difficulty mounting the brackets that connct the chains on the A-frame because of a non-standard second battery cage I added a few years ago. This required more grinding of the inside lip of one of the brackets and shortening the mounting bolts. Checking this all out ahead of time might have saved me some frustration. I want to emphasize none of this was the fault of the manufacturer. Casitas are a breed of the own.The sway control bar is exceptionally effective in that it has two friction pads vs the single friction point bar I was using.Check to make sure you have sockets that fit all the bolts. I used a cordless hammer drill to speed up the assembly but you'll need a torque wrench, or at least a breaker bar, to snug it all up. I also suggest taking the necessary tools to make adjustments on the road, at least for the first few trips. I'm still in the process of fine tuning. All in all, it's a big improvement over what I had and with continued tuning I expect even better performance. At a hundred bucks less than what I could get locally, it's a great buy.

I was in Idaho when the sway control broke. I called Husky and they shipped a new one to me. All they asked was that I take pictures and email them to them. The new sway control was built better than the old one so I anticipate no further problems. Hitch worked fantastic. It makes towing a breeze.
