In August, I went to dealer to order this part for my Husqvarna 27" snow blower and told the part could not be available until Mid-November. I did a search on Amazon and found this OEM part, for slightly more money but which was readily available. I wanted to finish servicing my unit so I took a chance the part was, aas advertised, an OEM part. It arrived within a few days, fit perfectly, and worked well.

Still plastic unfortunately....should be metal.I picked up a large fist sized stone and it shattered the old base.My blower is a Craftsman model built by Husqvarna....I had to research my model number (Sears Canada models differ from USA) to find the matching Husqvarna model which was listed in the fitment details on this part.The fit was very close, but I had to enlarge 2 of the 4 bolt holes to get them to line up to complete the attachment. Took an extra 10 minutes or so with my Dremel. From start to finish the job took around an hour to remove the old chute and base and put the new base and old chute back together.

Old one split and was shooting more out the side than from the chute. Part arrived and was installed. Took longer to get the old one off than install this replacement.

This part is a good replacement, but being plastic like the original is really the design flaw. This is the 2nd one I’ve had to put in, but I threw a lot of rocks when working on my old driveway. I’m hoping my new paved driveway will be easier on this part now. To ease the motility of the directional upper chute I lubricated the contact points with a copious amount of grease. Seems to spin a lot easier now. This product fit my 2012 Husqvarna ST230E snowblower. It’s easier to reinstall this with two people, set the top and then one person pushes down and helps line things up while the other person pushes the bolt from the inside out. I did it on my own, but my blood pressure was a little elevated and the nieghbor kids learned a few new words! 😉
