I love these gloves. I've been out with them a handful of times since buying them and have nothing but good things to say. I used them in Nova Scotia waters during during Feb and March. They kept my fingers warm and the lobster claw allowed for a little bit more dexterity when unzipping my suit and getting my seals just right.I ordered the medium as I have very average sized hands.The fit was snug around the wrist and fit my fingers nicely.I'll update my review if anything changes such as seams ripping or holes, but so far the gloves have been great.

Decent material and might be warm enough but the sealed seam between the fingers opened up within 2-3 surf sessions. Not much help from the seller either in getting warranty

Gloves are plenty warm for winter Great Lakes waters, and are surprisingly flexible and mobile. Definitely recommend.

used only a few times, but they seem to work. I tried them out for bike riding in winter. OK, but I would stick to mitts designed for bike riding. They would be great in the rain!

For kiteboarding, I was looking for a winter glove replacement for my beloved NP Neo 5 mm finger mitt. After trying countless winter - cold water gloves over the years, nothing performed like the NP "mitts. They're sooo comfortable and so warm - New England kiter. In fact the only issue I had at times were they were too warm. It's a nice problem to have. So after two seasons of use (that's about all any neoprene glove lasts) it's time to replace the NP's, but I can't find a replacement anywhere. Oh no! I cam across the Hyperflex ThawClaw and took a chance...Conclusion:Compared to the NP mitt's close but not there. The NP's are comfortable and non fatiguing. This is probably due to the pre curved fingers and the smoothskin (no additional layers to add a bulky layer). The Hyperflex feels bulky and bunches up with hand around the bar. The bottom line it's too fatiguing and hurts my hands. The wrist is also too constrictive = forearm cramp. The NP's are looser on the wrist with a velcro strap to "snug up" if need be.Pros:There well made and bargain priced. They're probably fine for surfing. All said, if I can't locate a pair of NP's I'd probably just grit it out and keep the Hyperflex ThawClaws. After all they are the second best winter glove I've tried to date.

I used the gloves two times and they are already cut, also it's not tight on ur hands. This is the last time I will ever buy hyberflex gloves.

When I first put them on they were light and felt thin, but when I wore them out my hands were actually warm.FYI - I surfed with them in Feb/March 2013 - NY/NJ waters @ 37-40 at the coldest. Used them 3-4 times so far and am happy with my purchase.If your debating between med and large - go with the Medium. I got the large and they are just a bit loose -Overall worth every penny!

These gloves are surprisingly warm. I was worried that they woudn't really work in the NY cold winter water, but they are completely up to the task.I have an O'Neil 6/5/4 suit and my body is cold before my hands are. A great buy for winter surf.

I can't use mittens and 5 finger gloves wear out too qluick or crack in the seems. These slide on an off very well and don't show any signs of wear after about 10 times in the water. I have been in 45 degree water and the feel war and are easy to paddle with them on. I notice that there is only three finger grip on the surfboard is normal.

I had these gloves for the 2010/2011 Winter in Rhode Island, which was much harsher than the current 2012 winter that's 10 degrees warmer on average. These gloves fit true to size and kept my hands nice and warm. Given the price, I didn't really expect them to last more than a season, which is exactly what I got. A rough guess is that I got about 25-30 sessions last season with these gloves (basically Oct '10 - May '11).Gradually the seams started to come a bit unglued which allowed a bit more water to flush in but by that point I was well into spring. I actually ended up using them for a few session this past fall as well. I ended up replacing the Hyperflex Claw with a pair of thicker body glove claw's that were a more premium product but I'm a little disappointed with the sizing, which was tighter despite the Medium size. So far I'm expecting the body gloves to last two seasons, which at nearly double the price should be a given. I just wish they fit better!Bottom line- These Hyperflex's are a good inexpensive solution to getting out in the winter waves that fit true to size.~Chris
