What is ceramic Fiber?
Ceramic Fiber is a man-made synthetic microfiber of specific diameter composed of high purity aluminosilicate materials which were developed since 1940s, to resolve various issues in other refractory materials. Ceramic fibers are produced in various forms like blankets, bulk fibers, cast shapes, paper, and textiles depending on the application.

This works great, had to cut it to size so it fits in my woodstove. This way I get two uses out of the same product, for a quarter of the price of the branded ones. And they last longer too. A bit of smell after opening the package, but not noticeable once in the stove.

After removing item from package it had a peculiar odor, placed it outside on close line and one side suned all day, took in and next day let the other side sun all day and by the second day the peculiar odor had dissipated. Used to replace insulation blanket on dishwasher.

The product was as described. Installed easily and was easy to cut. The only issue I had is the way they packaged the product they used box tape to hold the roll together and when peeling the tap off to open it up, it peeled a decent chunk of the ceramic fiber away (see photos). I was able to carefully remove the tape to use the blanket, but it definitely has some low spots from the tape.
