1. The lamp bead is welded to the aluminum substrate, and the thermal grease has been applied before welding, and it only needs to be directly processed for heat dissipation.

The description is a lie! The device is only 1W for the lamp. With a 5V supply it draws 300 mA, with 3.1 volts across the diode. That's a little under 1W for the diode. It is reasonably bright, but I seriously doubt that it makes 200 lumens at under 1 watt drive.

Although these get very bright, they also get incredibly hot. Like, it melts the solder kind of hot. I ended up testing with 3V and had much better results. Doesn't overheat and isn't stupid bright (I purchased warm white and didn't want them so bright individually anyway). Not sure if chaining all the lights in the package together helps or not, but 5V literally cooked 3 LEDs wired together. I ended up using only 1 LED in my DIY lamp powered with 2 AA batteries for now.

These little buggers are certainly bright...and they generate the heat to prove it. Be sure to add a heatsink -- I ended up needing both a heatsink and a copper wire spiral to keep the temperature below 60° C, which you really want to do if you want them to last for any period of time. Without a heatsink, I actually got one of the to desolder itself within a few minutes!

I returned the 3W 5V bulbs. When I connected power the 5V bulb, the bulb melted all of the solder connections and fell apart. The wires and all components fell off the aluminum backing plate within two minutes. Glad I tested the bulb first because this is a fire hazard. I suspect that these bulbs may be mislabeled and rated for 3V instead of 5V?? I also ordered the 1W 5V version of this bulb and they seem to work fine but they do get hot as well and you need to be aware of that depending on your application.
