About this item

  • 4-string Electric Bass with Poplar Body
  • 2-band EQ - Sea Foam Pearl Green
  • 2 Single-coil Pickups
  • Maple Fingerboard
  • Maple Neck

Retro-modern Medium-scale Bass from Ibanez Ibanez Mezzo electric basses feature a medium 32" scale length that's comfortable for a wide range of players. These value-packed bass guitars provide a moderate string tautness that facilitates easy bends in the high register — and unlike some short-scale basses, the low E is never flubby, even when played open. The Mezzo SRMD200K 4-string bass has a poplar body with a gloss finish and a fast, thin SRMD4 maple bolt-on neck. Bass players at Sweetwater know how important tonal versatility is, and you'll be impressed with this instrument's pair of Dynamix pickups — a hum-canceling split single-coil in the middle position and a J-style single-coil at the bridge. Custom electronics with 2-band EQ give you even more sound-shaping potential. For powerful, punchy tone, smooth playability, snappy retro-modern visuals — and big bang for your buck — the Ibanez Mezzo SRMD200K should definitely be on

This is an incredible bass guitar. Purchased it; had it professionally set-up at my local Guitar Seller; installed LaBella, Flat Wound strings and the rest will be history. Plays absolutely like butter. It is my first bass that is not long scale. I like the medium scale and it is extremely light weight which makes it easy to play for extended periods on stage. I am a big Ibanez fan. Of my nine bass guitars, the two that play the best are the least expensive Ibanez basses in the fleet.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my granddaughter who plays in the Jazz Band at her high school. She loves it and the color is really beautiful.

If you have smaller hands and shorter arms, this is a perfect solution. This instrument is stunningly beautiful and it sounds great as well. Very happy with this purchase. Looking forward to many years of playing this beauty.Progrockjock on YouTube has a great review of this instrument...that is what brought me here to buy it ... LOL

If you are looking for a midrange bass, look no further. The tone is amazing and everyone in our praise band commented on that. The playability is quite good from the factory.I did go ahead and do my own setup by lowering the action a tiny bit, adjusting the truss rod, and adjusting the intonation. This is all easily done on electric instruments.

I purchased this bass because I was looking for something that was medium scale and light. At 7.2 pounds it fit the ticket. It's my main gigging bass now, because my aging back can't take the weight of a 9 pound bass over a four hour gig any more.Pros:32 inch scales is (imho) the perfect compromise between long scale and short scale.Nice tight low E. No flubbiness at all.Sounds like a PJ should.Light as a feather.Extremely comfortable. The satin neck finish is fantastic!Stays in tune well.Cons:Tuners seem cheap. I will replace them soon.Pots are cheap and bind when they turn (not against the body). I don't care for active electronics, so I will replace the electronics and pickups with a set of Geezers.Finish has some inconsistencies in some spots. In other spots you can see where the natural was sanded through. If it was a $600 bass it would have been likely stamped a second but in this price range they probably all have small QC issues. The metallic flake paint is gorgeous though. If it didn't play and resonate so well, I would have considered sending it back.Overall it's a fantastic bass to use as a modding platform. With a set of Hipshots, and a set of Geezers and I'd put this up against any medium scale bass.

Have had one issue with this guitar. Mistakenly stepped on the amp cord while walking away from the amp (and wearing the guitar) and it stretched the line which must have created a short in the female connector within the guitar. Need to have it repaired, but other than that it's been a great bass.

Not the greatest bass in the world but definitely a good bass for the money. It's a great bass for a beginner, and the shorter scale makes it easier for someone with smaller hands. The weight is also nice... not too heavy... I can play twice as long!

32" scale - sweetness! I have been playing 34" scale basses for 15 years, but the 32" scale is much more comfortable to my smaller hands. I had tried out this bass at a "guitar store", but had Amazon gift cards, and so I pulled the trigger. It was delivered ready to go. Literally, other than tuning it, there were zero adjustments that needed to be made. The string height was just right, the 12th fret was in tune just like the open strings, so no saddle or truss rod adjustments- just perfect! The sounds are very adjustable. I prefer a p-bass sound, which you can definitely dial-in. I wish Ibanez offered this bass with just a passive split-coil, but they don't. The neck, like on all Ibanez basses, is super-fast. This, combined with the more comfortable (for me) 32" scale is heaven. There are zero flaws on this bass. The frets are trimmed nicely, the neck pocket is snug. The electronics are responsive, the paint job is gorgeous. Well, you get the picture.
