This is a must for doing the GEN3 to GEN4 engine cover and cam position sensor relocate. I have a Gen3 5.3l vortec that I put a Gen4 ls7 camshaft in. There's no provision for the CPS on the back side of the cam like the truck cam, so you need this to properly plug the hole the stock sensor went in. The cam gear will have the provision, so a Gen4 timing cover must be used.
