Only reason I gave a four star is because it's the second one I bought in just about a year. Gets damage easily. However fits o4 Subaru perfectly

So I bought this for my 02 Subaru Impreza 2.5l because the oem part is over $400cad. Looking at the part it looked great same size and everything but as soon as I started the car I could hear a massive air leak from it and the cars rpm shot up to over 4k. It would drop when you blipped the throttle but would do this every time I started the car. Definitely save your money and try and find one from a parts car or something or spend the stupid amount for the oem part.

Fixed the low idle, intermittent stall and hesitation problem on a 2002 Legacy Outback Sedan.Normally I use OEM parts. So we’ll see how long it lasts, but for $18 bucks it’s worth a shot. The OEM part is between $300-400 dolllars from subaru and other retailers. You could buy many of these for that price difference. I always question the longevity of Chinese-made parts, but for a 20 year old car, the goal is to just keeping it running smoothly on the cheap at this point. I will update this review if it causes me any troubles anytime soon.Be aware you will need to disconnect your battery for a while and allow multiple drive cycles and a few days for the fuel maps to relearn properly. It will initially idle high, then come down gradually. People are too quick to call the part faulty. A code reader will come in handy as it may or may not cause a high-idle code to set as part of the process, which will need to be cleared. Afterwards the vehicle should be driven for a few drive cycles to relearn the fuel maps.

car idles normal after installing the new IAC valve

So far so good. This is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the OEM factory IACV, but it seems to work OK.Important to note that when installing this part, you *must* reset the ECU and give the computer time to re-learn the fuel mapping. Basically, you have to reset the ECU (usually by leaving the battery disconnected for an extended period of time) and then spend a few days driving around letting the computer adjust accordingly. During this time, the idle and revs will be erratic, but mine re-settled back to normal after a few days and now rides fine.

Unfortunately the one I got was completely failed, or acting in a very inconsistent manner. Installed the new IAC valve and the engine immediately began to *idle* at 3000+ RPM, surging up to 4.5k. I had enough after waiting for 30 seconds or so, the results were pretty clear. Removed it and put my poorly performing (but still basically functional) OEM IAC back in. maybe the results would be better with a different part but this buy was not super confidence inspiring. Will be looking for a pulled part elsewhere in the future.
