I bought 2 of these for my twin grandkids’ 14th bday to dress up a gift of cash and get those brains working. In order to open the puzzle box I had to go online. Being that it was in Dutch or German on the website, I located a British flag for English translation. (No American flag, who cares lol). They recommend this for ages 14 and up and I completely agree! It is quite delicate and one must be very patient to solve it. Having said that, I needed to follow the directions online to open, insert cash and close back up again. This is so charming and can be kept as a souvenir or to hide very small trinkets. A couple of well placed “hints” to the recipient will make it easier or go online for the solution. There is no solution in the box.

I was worried the puzzle might be too difficult for my granddaughter, who is turning 10. However I solved it within 5 minutes without instructions. I made a code from a story she's been reading that she can do first, which will explain the first puzzle. I'm hoping she will find the challenge, and the connection to her current reading material even more fun! I put a Powell's gift card in it.

Bought this for the puzzle enthusiast to hide a gift card in. The Amazon gift card was the hard paper one so I could fold it to make it fit. A plastic gift card probably would not fit in the box.It took him (age 36) about 10 mins to get it open, but he still had fun doing it.The box does seem a little fragile so. But it held up for the intended purpose.

This was fun for my 8-year-old who loves puzzles. It wasn't too challenging and can be used for many other birthdays. Nice for sonething a little different.

Luckily, I read the reviews before purchasing this for my husband who is a good puzzle solver. So this was actually the first of three boxes that he had to solve to get his actual Christmas gift and it took him less than 15 minutes to solve it, but if you have a kid, that likes puzzles like this it would be great for a birthday gift. Difficulty level was easy quality was good. Appearance was great and value for money was definitely better than some of the harder more difficult puzzles to finish. You can customize the box with little wooden numbers to say what birthday you’re celebrating, which was sweet. The Pieces moved easily and didn’t get stuck, even though the wood doesn’t seem too durable.

This is such a cute little gift vault. It is incredibly well crafted. Feels very sturdy. Very clever. Perfect for someone who loves puzzles. It is a little more simple than I feel was disclosed. I feel it would probably be solved closer to the 10 minute mark rather than the 15 min mark. It's also pretty small. A gift card would be a tight fit but doable. Works for what I need but that's something to keep in mind. They also have instructions online of how to open the box. Love the birthday theme. Very very happy with my purchase!!
