Great board replacement for the old Emerson board. The Emerson cost over $300, so at $160 it's not bad.

After a heavy rain storm, I noticed error code SB on the LCD. After trying to reset the power on the heater, the error code disappeared but the buttons were inoperable. I first ordered a new LCD panel and that didn’t fix the problem. New panel was needed anyway given the wear on the old one. Next I decided to try a replacement of the PCB that is mounted to the LCD. I took a chance on this one given the Hayward OEM was 2x the price. I received the circuit card and it worked correctly. It’s only day 1 so I am still not ready to declare victory but the buttons are working again and the Heater is operable. My finding is that this is a suitable replacement for the Emerson LCD / button electronics that comes from Hayward. Some points to consider:- turn off the power to the heater from the circuit panel- remove the lcd panel from the heater . There are four screws.- pull the panel out. There is a ribbon cable to the main controller in the heater. Note the orientation of the ribbon cable by taking a picture. I removed the ribbon cable from the controller by carefully prying it. There is a little clip on the connector that needs to be pressed to pull out the connector. Don’t pull too hard to avoid damaging the main co troller.- I then connected the new circuit card ribbon cable to the main board. I did this first to make sure I had the connector on the right pins and in the same orientation as the old one.- I removed the screws on the old circuit card and pulled it free from the LCD display. Note there is another ribbon cable connected from the circuit card to the LCD panel.- I removed the LCD ribbon cable. Then plugged the new circuit card ribbon cable into the LCD panel with the same orientation as the old one removed.- secured the new circuit card to the lcd panel with the screws- restored the integrated lcd display and circuit card assembly by pressing into the slot in the heater. I secured it with the four screws- I turned on the circuit breaker to restore power.- lcd and buttons were operational.Very pleased. Took only 15 minutes. Probably saved a $800 pool service repair.

Received it yesterday, took less than 10 minutes to install and am happy to say the heater works again 😎 we will be swimming this afternoon! Apparently this is the most common issue with these heaters, saved hundreds of dollars in labor for a simple fix.

Although the numbers on the board were the same as the original this board was not identical and did not work. I was however able to cannibalise the board for the bad components on my board and get it working again. DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD. SHAME ON THE MANUFACTURER…….

We had to replace 2 things on our Hayward 4000 btu heater. We weren't able to tell how well it works until the other two parts came in. All of the items were purchased on Amazon and they worked. I have gotten to where I don't trust Amazon products, so I'm super careful about reading most recent reviews. I was very happy to find that we were able to fix our pool for $250 as opposed to having to hire someone to come out there was Hayward rep.
