Used it as a FireWire extension for my older focusrite Safire sound card and a 2015 MacBook Pro running thunderbolt. Worked great.

I used this cable as part of a machine room / isolation room build for my home studio. This was the part of the build I was most nervous about because the Firewire protocol can be pretty fickle and flakey when it comes to signal loss over a long cable run. This worked perfectly with my Firewire PCIe card in my PC and I have zero packet drop / signal loss over the run.
