These are cute for Xmas decorating, but they’re also good to use for sick call bells. When I was growing up, when one of us kids got sick, my mom would always bring us a little brass bell for us to ring if we needed something. So much easier on the nerves than screaming, especially if you had a sore throat and couldn’t scream. These function just as well as that old brass bell, with a ring that’s not super loud, but loud enough. So now they have a permanent spot on a shelf where they can be found if needed all year round.

If you're looking for these to be the type you'd use as an instrument to "play the bells," I would say these aren't the ones you're looking for.They come across more as toys. They aren't particularly pretty enough to function as a decoration, and their tone isn't deep enough. You could use them as a prop to ring bells in a play or something, but otherwise, I'm not sure what you'd use them for. I bought them as more of an instrument, and they don't quite work for what I'd intended. They are about six inches tall.

These are nice bells, wanted them for a Santa suit, Grandpa plays Santa, just for a walk through, since we need to be careful little ones do not recognize him. We needed a bell that could be heard, seems like a hard thing to find, this one was the best, it wasn’t really loud, but, they did hear it ring, and knew he was close. This bell worked to complete Santa’s suit. I am sure it will work for an elderly person, to call someone to there aid. It is not a large bell, fits in your hand well, good quality, and the price was really good, and there are 2 of them in the package.

Thanksgiving dinner my son made joke about ringing the dinner bell. Well for Christmas dinner he will be ready. The box contains two small bells, white metal and a wooden handle. Simple easy and will be fun!
