A handy tool that is sufficiently compact to carry in one's pocket whilst in the workshop. It appears to be accurate enough for my needs.

I wasn't sure I'd use it, but I find myself reaching for it to run parallel lines, set 90's and even check calibrations on my saws. Sturdy and useful. No regrets

I bought this 4" iGaging double square to keep in the pocket of my wood shop apron for quick measurements and checking square. I have a 6" and 12" Starrett combination gauges and those were too big obviously for this purpose. This double square is of good quality, especially for the price. I did use some fine wet/dry sandpaper to lightly ease the sharp edges on the body to make it more comfortable. I also removed the rule, applied a little Camilla oil and some paste wax to make adjusting the rule easier. I also applied the oil to the body to prevent rust. This small double square works great, is easy to read and the knob locks in the rule very well. Checked the squareness against a high quality machinists square as well as the Starretts and this iGaging is spot on. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I do a lot of woodworking projects and projects around the house and when doing so I use this square and its bigger brother the iGaging 12” combination square a lot. I use it so much it has its own spot in my apron so it is always on me when I’m working. It is very accurate and can measure down to 1/64” increments. It also works great when ensuring my table saw blade and miter saw blades are square. For my miter saw, due to the blade guard, a 4 inch square is about the largest you can fit up against it so it works perfect. When tightening the screw it snugly holds it position and doesn’t move. You can’t go wrong with this square. I like it enough I’m thinking of getting the 6” version to go along with it.

A handy, easy to use small square at a good price. Keep in mind: it was noticeably off from 90 degrees when the side of the rule with eighths was up in the head, and closer enough to square when 64ths was up. Several of the edges on the head and one end of the rule had significant burrs that needed removal. The rule slot in the head had a good deal of ground-off material and oil, which meant that the rule initially stuck, dragged and made grinding noises. Finally, it takes a lot of finger strength to really secure the small lock nut. But it's super-handy, accurate (enough, after some tune-up), usable (enough) and inexpensive enough that it's one of my favorite dovetail tools.

Despite several negative reviews here, many for poor quality, I decided to order this 4" iGaging square. I had seen a YouTube comparison of the iGaging square with a much more expensive (and highly accurate) Starrett. The recommendation was to go with iGaging. I found the quality of the iGaging square to be excellent (and, I liked that it came with a case).I already have two "standard" 12" squares, one a Craftsman and one a Stanley. There's an easy way to check a square's accuracy. Just put a piece of paper on a clipboard (you could also use a board). Then, draw a line along the blade with the square held against the clipboard/wood edge. Next, flip the square 180 and repeat, drawing another line near the first. If the two lines are parallel, the square is accurate. As much as I could tell, the iGaging square was right on.I had done this same test with my other two squares. Neither was "way off", but, still, clearly off. Any inaccuracy is, of course, increased as you draw longer lines. There are ways to adjust square accuracy, but, I didn't want to spend any time doing it. Also, for my current purpose, I really couldn't use the longer 12" blades. As the photo shows, the job was to check the squareness of a new miter saw blade with respect to the saw table. Sorry if the photo is upside down. I couldn't figure out how to fix it.A 12" blade couldn't be used without removing the guard which I didn't want to do. Furthermore, you have to make sure that the square's blade is not against a saw blade tooth at the top and bottom. With the 4" iGaging square, it was easy to check miter saw blade squareness. In a way, I wish that I had purchased the iGaging "combo" pack. But, as an aging garage woodworker who now mostly produces sawdust, I probably don't need it.

Cons:1.The threading on the hook bolt was so bad the nut would seize. Had to lap it a bit to even get the nut past this tight spot.2.The slot on the straight edge is not square, so you have to overloosen/overtighten it when you adjust from one end to the other.3. If you remove the straight edge, completely, it's fiddly to get back in. On most combo squares, the hook bolt has a square body. This one has a cylindrical body. So when you remove the straight edge, this takes all tension from the bolt spring, leaving the hook free to turn the wrong way and to block the straight edge from going back in.4. Poor locking. I think it's partly the crappy threading and partly the fact that the body is steel. But you have to crank pretty hard to get it to lock up solid. And then it can be crunchy to open it, again.Pros: The finish is excellent. The size is handy. It is completely functional and accuracy is great. All of the important faces are precision flat ground. Actually, all of the faces are precision flat ground. You don't get this on most of the cheap cast aluminum squares.Lovely tool. Probably needs a little TLC and breaking in.

This thing looked terrible when I got it. Where the stock meets the blade was it was not filed properly. The stock itself has big chips on one side. I tried to return it - they accepted the return but wanted me to post at my expense! Instead of arguing I took a file and tried to fix it. Looks good now, I only hope it's still square.

Very happy with the performance of this tool. Machined edges a bit sharp but otherwise quality manufacture.
